Pity party - NSAIFR

Long story short, I've been having severe low back pain, and woke up Saturday morning with half of my left leg and most of my foot numb. Went to ER and they did a CT scan, which showed I have a herniated disc. I'm in the limbo between an MRI that was Monday night and my dr appt which isn't until next week. I'm irate over that. The numbness hasn't gone away and the things I've read via dr google are scaring me.
Any of you have experience with a herniated disc? Numbness? How long did it last and how did you get relied?
Prayers appreciated. This just plain sucks. I want to hold baby girl (who isn't much of a baby anymore) and be able to function normally.
MF (low motility) - Began stims for IVF#1 7/21/12
ER 8/2/12 - 14 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and ICSI'd, 6 fertilized. ET 8/7 - 2 embies. Beta#1 8/17: 143! Beta#2 8/20: 590! Beta#3 8/22: 1,162! 1st US 9/4: one beautiful little bean with the best sounding HB I've ever heard!

    Ack! That sucks. I'm so sorry. I believe that my mom had a bulging disk. I remember her being in chronic back pain growing up. The good news is that post-surgery and lots of PT she recovered well. She is now in her mid-60s and I haven't heard a peep about her back in years.

    I hope you get into the doc before next week. Hugs and hope the pain/numbness eases. Back pain is scary n

    Me-36, Unexplained Infertility, DH-35, all clear
    Clomid 50mg 12/2011 = BFN
    Clomid 100mg 1/2012 = BFN, with Cyst
    IVF #1 Lupron/Menopur/Gonal-f/HCG Trigger
    ER 4/19/12 = 11 retrieved, 6 fertilized,
    ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
    Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
    Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!! 
    Baby girl J arrived two weeks early! Born into water, med-free. Hooray for Team Pink!

    TTC #2 - back to the RE, treatment started 12/2014.

    I have no experience but sounds super scary. I hope you get some relief soon! T&Ps coming your way..

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    Oh no!  I have fractured a vertebra, but not had any disk issues.  But I know the pain and incapacitation involved.  Sending T&P your way.  Keep us posted.

    DX: Unexplained IF
    Many IUI's with various meds all BFFN
    IVF #1 11/11 canceled due to OHSS
    IVF #2 Feb/March 2012 ET of 2 on day 3 4/7 BFP! 5/1 u/s blighted ovum
    IVF #3 July 2012 ET of 3 on day 3 7/24 BFP!

    Thank you ladies! I was able to move my appt to Monday. They confirmed MRI showed disc herniation. Fun times! Love you all!

    Hugs herniated discs suck! I have two from an accident and have lived with it for over ten years. In the beg pt helped and getting epidural steroid injections. But what has really helped is iyengar yoga I go twice a week no matter what it's the only thing that keeps the pain, numbness and tingling at bay. I also go to the gym and work out hard this keeps me mobile and makes my back and other muscles strong enough to support my back. I found Pilates horrible. I get numbness to the point where I can't walk on my foot or sometimes my ankle feels broken. The trick to all this is to try and make space and keep pressure off the disc.
