Hi everyone! I just got my BFP last Thursday and I'm at about 4.5 weeks. My first drs appt is when I'm 11 weeks and while I wish it weren't so far away, I understand that this is typical for pregnancies that aren't higher risk. This is our first pregnancy and so my husband and I want to do a quick little photoshoot with a pair of baby shoes and either put it in our Christmas cards (I'll be 12 weeks the middle of December) or to just put on Facebook. Mainly, we just want something that documents our excitement over our first pregnancy and maybe to frame for a nursery. The photographer has to have two weeks in between taking the pics and turning it around so we're doing them when I'm 8 weeks along. Of course, I'm super nervous about this because I feel like this is a sure fire way to jinx it lol.

Did anyone else do something like this?

I know we won't have the money for anything professional, but I'd like to come up with something better than just blurting it out on facebook. Maybe I can think of something cute to do with a turkey or something, since I don't think I'll hold out that long after my first u/s on the 10th. This is our first, too, by the way.

We're doing a photo announcement as well but we will take the photos ourselves or have a friend do it. I'll save the photo budget for newborn photos. :-)

We found a photographer who does minishoots for like $150, so not too expensive. Plus we dont know anyone with a professional camera

Meh, this might be a good point. But I would have to do it before my drs appt still because it's on December 9th.

I think we're just going to ask a friend who has a decent camera to take a couple pics. I think at this point, the $150 would be better off going into our baby fund than it would be for pics Thanks for the advice everyone!

I bought an ADORABLE announcement on Etsy.... here  and it was only 8 bucks, so I felt pretty comfortable investing in it now. Etsy has a BUNCH of really cute announcements that are unique and personalizable (yeah, I made that word up. its brilliant).

That is really cute! I like this one too from Etsy. My plan now is to get a friend to take a pic of us holding a pair of cream colored ugg baby booties.

I'm weird about not jinxing stuff. Like, I have open enrollment for health care at work until Nov 17th and on one hand, I want to put the amount of my out of pocket max into my FSA to save on taxes because I know my healthcare costs will be at least that much but since my appt isnt until Dec 9th, I know something will go wrong lol. I am just not really wanting to get professional pics taken 3 weeks before my appointment..
