I'm feeling so unmotivated today. My projects are all at a pretty good point so I could take advantage and get some housework done. But I don't want to! Is it wrong to stop working early, grab some wine to encourage me to fold laundry? Hmm.
We got a $10,000 loan to consolidated some of our many credit cards (like $29,000 worth of credit card debt.) So for we have only paid off 1 card that had $700 on it, and have splurged the rest, like $4,000. It has only been a month since we got the loan. What the hell did we splurge all that money on!?
We are never going to get out of debt. Ever. Like the $67,000 of debt we are in.
>cue panic attack after realizing just how much debt we actually have. Did I mention that debt is only credit cards/loans/student loans. We don't even have a mortgage.
DH and I have student loans and it's depressing seeing payments go out. I made a spreadsheet with our budget and I'm tracking every penny we spend. It's amazing seeing where your money goes.
We are trying to buy a truck for this winter so we are cutting back on silly spending. DH getting breakfast on the way to work, random snacks while traveling, trips to town--it all adds up.
We thought we were good about not spending money! Have you thought about doing something similar? Unless you NEED it, don't get it.
We travel home (6 hours away) and are going to start packing a cooler with drinks and sandwiches. That will save a lot!
@chloebeth930 I highly recommend reading Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University or Total Money Makeover if you haven't already! He has a lot of great insight on managing finances. If you can, I'd say borrow from your local library and see if you like it before buying it.
