Hello lovely ladies!  I will do my best to get this check in posted every Wednesday morning.  My DH goes into work late on Wednesdays, so he can keep A entertained while I'm at the computer, because toddler and computer just don't mix! His work schedule is changing, we just have no idea when yet, so I might need to change the check in day/time down the road at some point, just a heads up!

This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd Tri after 27 weeks.

I will be 23w tomorrow (wut??).  Finally sleeping a little better the last couple of nights, what a difference that makes!  Had some nasty heartburn this week, that is seriously not fun.  Otherwise I'm doing alright.  We are working hard on getting stuff down around the house so we can get going on the nursery - with two on the way, I am feeling the need to get some of that big stuff done sooner rather than later!  I got a couple of great deals this weekend - 2 for 1 high chairs, woo hoo!  And a half price, brand new, bouncy chair.  Saving money makes me happy

QOTW: We met at university, we were neighbours in residence - he was literally the boy next door.  I actually broke up with my HS BF because I kind of had the hots for the neighbour! We've been together about 10 yrs now (had a little on again off again at the start) and married for 3 years.

This is my last check-in! I'm 27w3d today so I'm in the third trimester! I can't even believe it

On Monday I had the GTT and I'm still waiting for those results. I'm also still waiting for my Rhogam, but it should be here today or Friday. Tomorrow we have a growth scan. I'm so excited that we'll get to see the baby again - I didn't think we'd be having any more ultrasounds. Hopefully he looks perfect and is still growing well. 

I'm doing mostly fine, nothing major to complain about. I've been working on getting the nursery organized and also trying to organize the lists of what we still need. We're planning to use cloth diapers and I'm having a hard time making up my mind about what to get. I'm also torn because I don't want to put things off until the very end, but I'd like to wait to see if there are any good deals around the holidays. I guess I'll wait and try to get a lot done when my semester ends in early December.

QOTW: We met in New Mexico (not where either of us lives) while we were taking a summer class right before we graduated (from different universities). That was about 7.5 years ago. We dated long distance for 2.5 years before I moved to live him while he finished grad school. We got engaged right away and we've been married about 3.5 years.

Good morning!

All is good over here! I'm getting winded easier, but really I feel great. Sleeping is starting to get tough and peeing every 3 hours isn't helping. I don't have a cervix check until next week & then u/s glucose test the week after that. My first shower is next Saturday! I can't wait!!! I decided to go forward w/ removing wall paper in the boy's bathroom. I really want to time to fly lol.

Edit to add: DH and I met in college. We were friends for years bf we started dating. We've been together 8 years and married 3 this past month!

@Milagros315‌ Congrats on moving to the 3rd tri! Have you stalked the cloth diapering board? If you do a search for 'newborn stash' you can pull up a bunch of threads about what/how much to get. They do a weekly swap thread and you can find some good deals there. The newborn diapers are used for such a short amount of time, even if you buy used, they are practically brand new!

Hey ladies... my "due date" is wonky because of twins it is actually more of an eviction date so I am still here in 2nd tri for a few more weeks.

I am feeling... uncomfortable. Sleeping is difficult but I have a new pillow system that has helped a bit the past couple of nights. The babies like to kick the heck out of me all night long which I love feeling them but I need some sleep!  I failed the one hour glucose test which I wasn't suprised, so I have to do the three hour test next week.  I have my MFM and OB appoitnments next week and we move to a every two week schedule.  I started cutting back at work a bit which is helping a ton!

QOTW:  DH and I met online 8 years ago. We dated on and off for several years but once we both grew up and committed to eachother there was no going back- he is my best friend and the best thing that ever happened to me.

I am 16 weeks today.  EDD 4/9/2015.  We are Team Pink.

No appointments coming up until our 19 week Appt with our OB and then our 20 week scan.

QOTW:  DH and I met through work back in late 2007.  We have a mutual friend who introduced us when I first moved to the small caliber group, he had asked about me then, but I was married.  He later got married and we would occassionally see each other for work projects or at social events with our mutual friend.  Both our first marriages did not last.   Eventually he ended up the lead engineer on one of my programs, we went on travel together in Spring 2011 and we were pretty inseperable after that.   We were married in Aug 2012.

Ladies, I am THRILLED to be joining you! My EDD is April 17th, and I am team TBD. I'm 14+5 today, and I never thought I'd make it this far. I don't have all that much to share. Our NT scan results came back in last week, and everything looked great. I have no additional appts until the A/S on Nov. 17th, and I have no idea how I'll make it that long. FX that it's a boring month for me! I'm feeling fine except that I'm still completely wiped out from fatigue. Hope that ends soon.

QOTW: My first encounter with OH was in a cynical half-hearted attempt at online dating following a nightmarish breakup on my part, and I rejected him out of hand because he didn't drink alcohol at all, and I love my wine. I think that says more about online dating than it does about whether I am or am not an alcoholic, but perhaps there's room for debate. ;-) I met him several months later through a friend, and we quickly started dating, even though I was still a mess from the prior breakup. This was in 2008, we married in Sept. 2010 when I was almost 33 and he was 37.

@Milagros315 - I've been reading about cloth diapers, too, and what I've concluded is that it might make sense to get a small number of a few different types to see what you look best. It seems to depend a lot on baby's shape (e.g., skinny vs plump thighs) and there's just no way to know that in advance. That's just my conclusion. Congrats on moving to the 3rd tri!

I hear you on the eviction date!  I can't go past 38 weeks, so when people ask when I'm due I usually just say "the end of March".  Less explaining that way! lol!

I passed my glucose test last week, yay. We scheduled my RCS for January 23rd for now. If I go into labor before that, I may try for a VBAC. I have a growth u/s scheduled for Nov 23rd. I'm feeling great and everything looks good

QOTW: I met DH in high school in 1999, so almost 16 years. We dated, with some on/off in the early young years. We were married in 2010.

QOTW: I met him through my boss. I am her nanny and he worked for her so after my divorce she set us up. I was with him for 3 yrs and married for 5 yrs this past September.

Hi Ladies -

Feeling ok - am 26+4 today.  I had a bleeding/spotting scare this weekend but all turned out ok.  Just due to my cervix being fragile - more susceptible to bleeding for no reason.  Ironically both times this has happened was the day after a flight - so no more flights for me we decided.

I saw the OB Monday just to check everything - cervix was closed up tight so that was good, and I had an u/s today just to check and all looked great - so nothing to worry about.  Got to see our little bean again so that was exciting - baby and cervix look good and all is on track - and we finally got a good look at his/her face - in our a/s baby was covering its face!

QOTW: DH and I met through a mutual friend - but it wasn't a set up... just different groups of friends out one night at the same place.  Been together for 8+ years (since we met) and married for 4+.

22+3 over here. Feeling some incredibly strong little kicks! My husband felt a couple last night and he was amazed. He asked if I felt them all the time. I am physically feeling fine! I know I'll start slowing down soon, so I'm trying to be productive while I can be.

@Milagros315 I'm also planning on cloth diapering and have heard from many that a diaper trial is the way to go so you don't have to commit to one kind. I'm going against that wisdom and buying prefolds + flats + covers when I see them secondhand or on sale and hoping I like them. 

QOTW: I'm similar to you,@Alicia_R1! I met my husband at work 5 years ago when we were both in relationships. We conveniently ended up single at the same time, hung out at a work party and uh.... hit it off  We were married a year and a half later.

18 weeks today, anatomy u/s this afternoon and then DH and I are going to get our shopping on! I wish they hadn't rescheduled my dr appt to tomorrow, I'm having some cramping/stretching? type of pain on my left side that I would love to be reassured about. QOTW: I met my DH 11 years ago on the Canadian version of hot or not dot com (don't judge, I was 17!). We dated briefly then reconnected a couple years later and have been a couple for 8 years, engaged for 4.5 and now married for 2 :-)

23 weeks tomorrow and I have purchased 8 different paint colors to test for nursery painting. Trying to finalize registry so we can get shower invites sent out. Glucose testing next week and rhogam next month. Fetal echo scheduled for Monday. Plugging right along. Maybe thinking baby moon??


QOTW: DH and I met through mutual friends. Also not a set up, just both at the same place at the same time. This was 1995, so coming up on 20 years! He was married, so nothing but friends for a while. We got together a couple of years after his divorce in 2000. Married since 2007. Feels like a lifetime, but in a great way!

25 weeks today. Have to go for my second glucose test soon. Otherwise everything seems to be going well. I've definitely started nesting already lol. Poor hubby, I have a huge to do list before February!

QOTW: we met through mutal friends and then realized our families were friends way back when I was in grade 3. But our parents lost touch. Actually it was funny cuz DH's dad gave me a set of books that belonged to hubby when I was younger cuz he felt they were too girly (even though hubby had bought them with his own money) well seeing as I don't throw out books he got them back eventually lol. We've been together almost 10 years, married for 6.5.

@Aeml1985‌ - you might meet with a doc at the a/s. If so, you can ask them about it. But most likely you're just having some RLP - in other words, nothing to worry about! @Milagros315‌ - I too am planning on doing cloth diapers. The cloth diaper board is pretty invaluable. I definitely recommend you checking it out! I'm also looking at the all in ones. Supposedly will fit newborns as well. AFM: I'm 27 weeks today. So, I guess this is my last check-in. And like @Milagros315, I never thought I'd get here. We didn't hear anything from the doc regarding the 1 hour GT and she had told us no news is good news. So, I'm assuming all is well! QOTW: I met dh through a mutal friend. I actually didn't like him at first but grew to love him. We'll have been married for 8 years in January and together for 10 years in December. ETA: spacing! - Big fail .. sorry for the gigantic paragraph!

No worries  @kmc84! my "real" due date is Feb 2nd but my Twin eviction date is 1/12 if we make it that far.  It's so confusing because with twins you just don't have a clue so I just tell people "New Years" as that would be 35 weeks which is average for twins.  You can add me on the list or not add me no worries either way!

I too am cloth diapering and we went to an inservice at a local cloth diaper store and got to play with all the different kinds, and the lady was so knowledgable and told us about the pros and cons of each kind. We are doing flats and covers for the first 2 months and then one size pockets.

This is my last 2nd tri check-in! That went by so freaking fast!! 27w1d today! I had an ultrasound today and the babies are measuring great! I didn't get a peek at the estimated weeks they are measuring by, but baby boy is measuring 2lbs 6oz and baby girl is measuring 2lbs 9oz. A little on the big side, not sure if that is genetics since I was 8lbs when I was born or from my GD. So far everything has been going really well with the GD (at least on my end). I meet with my GD nurse next Tuesday to go over my first week of checking my sugar/writing down every freaking thing I eat. 

We're also going to go look at more houses this weekend! We're insane for buying a house right now with the babies coming in about ten weeks, but we don't really have a choice. We live in a teeny tiny one bedroom house and nothing in our area is affordable to rent. We've been saving to buy a house for a while now and right now just happens to be the best time to do it!

QOTW: We were both in orchestra in middle school/high school. He plays the cello and I play the violin. We started dating towards the end of the 8th grade. Been together 11 years, married for three!

Hi ladies!!

I'm just plugging away over here at 18 weeks and 2 days. I am beyond tired all the time- but finally off of PIO- so maybe that will help (but I'm still on suppositories every 6 hours). I just crazily signed up to do home instruction for one of my students- I have no idea how I'm going to find the time- but I guess I'll just eat dinner while teaching him... multi-task... Other than that things are kinda boring. No appointment until after our baby moon in November.

QOTW: We actually met on match.com. Oddly, I noticed his profile for months but kept thinking he was the marrying kind so I kept looking him over.. until I got fed up with players and sent him a message. We have been dating over 9 years and our 6 year anniversary is in 2 weeks.

I'm 23w2d and just counting down to v-day! MH works at a pediatric hospital, so he keeps saying he will feel better at 32weeks.
Had my OB checkup last week. It was meh. She told me to watch my weight and to start walking! Eek! I'm trying to be much better about eating healthier and have been going to barre classes every other day since. I got so upset I came home and cried after my appt, but I am feeling much better about it now. I've gained 20lbs, and she said she only wants me to gain 25-30lbs. Whatever. I'll do my best.
QOTW:
We met in college back in 2003. We didn't like each other at first and we're both seeing other people. It wasn't until his fraternity and my sorority were paired up for a competition that we got to know each other. We were off and on for a couple of years, engaged in 2009 after we graduated (pharmacy school - not just extra partying ) and married in 2010. So it'll be 4 years next month!

Hi ladies! I'm 20w1d and have my a/s and OB appointment later today. I'm excited to see baby again, but still get so nervous before every appointment. I wish I could bring DS to see his baby brother today, but he'll be napping when I have to leave. He keeps saying he's getting a baby sister, but when I told him to tell Grandma what he was getting the other day, he finally said a baby brother without mention of a sister. LOL. I'm starting to feel better with adding an extra Diclegis during the day. Finally not dry heaving every single day. Weeeeeeee! But I'm sooooo tired today.

I'm thinking along the lines of @mdiblasi10 and scheduling an RCS but trying for a VBAC if I go into labor before then. Was there anything in particular that helped you with your decision?

15+5 weeks today. I had another OB visit and u/s today. Baby looks great and my placenta moved quite a bit up and away from my cervix. I'm going back in 2 and 4 weeks for more u/s to keep an eye on things. The OB today was more concerned about last Friday than the OB I saw Friday...... I've definitely been more crampy and have had much worse RLP since Friday.

QOTW: DH and I went to HS together and a mutual friend set us up. We were 15 and 16 when we started dating, so we have been together 15 years and married for 6 last week we split for 2 months in college and we quickly realized we were being crazy!

@mrs.willie I did go to the VBAC boards here and read some of the posts. I can find stories of successful VBAC's and unsuccessful ones, and women who loved their VBAC and others who actually preferred their c-section recovery. For me, it's been hard to decide. One thing I thought about was a c-section recovery with a very active toddler - perhaps a vaginal recovery would be easier. My OB will not induce for a VBAC so I have to go into labor before my scheduled RCS at 39 weeks to even try. The decision may not even be in my hands. However, I figure there isn't any harm to try. The 1% chance of abruption seems low and my OB assured me that even if that does happen, all of her experiences with it have turned out okay for Mom and baby.  Good luck with your decision!!

@Duckey719 Still on rest since I've still had cramping. It could be normal, might not be. I'm happy for extra monitoring too, especially since I don't really feel movement, thank you anterior placenta!

QOTD: We met at college, and we did similar activities/clubs but never really interacted too much and were just acquaintances for 3 years or so. Then we both ran into eachother at a local bar (both drunk) and were catching for awhile and he asked for my number

23 weeks yesterday for me and I'm definitely feeling the nugget kicking away. No more flutters, I'm getting full kicks now. Crazy!
We started a birthing class this week too. We both really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
QOTW: We met on a blind date. My BFF was dating DH's roommate. I was still waiting for my divorce to be finalized. I'm glad DH was ok with it since I really liked him. We've been together almost 7 years and married for 5.

Thanks @mdiblasi10. The VBAC predictor gave me a 53% chance of a successful one. I also gave it a lot of thought about recovery with a toddler and all our family lives 500 miles away, but hopefully this way I can plan easier for family to visit and/or friends here to help with my DS while I'm in the hospital. I wasn't too concerned about placental abruption either, but that if I wait it out and don't go into labor until say 41w, I could still end up needing a c-section anyway. My hospital won't induce either. So if I do go into labor earlier, it'll have to happen on my own. The dr sent the order over to schedule the RCS, so just waiting to hear back on availability that day. Kind of exciting to know DS#2 WILL be here by that date though.
