So over this...

High pitch whining! She has been doing it like all day for a couple days and before that on and off for at least a week. Anyone else having this issue? I feel like she whines when it leave the room and when I'm by her. She might stop for a minute then starts again. I don't know if it's being overtired or bathroom related or just some new voice and sound she likes using.

Re: So over this...

  • DD started this a few days ago, sometimes I can get her to stop but then I walk away and it starts all over again. Other times I am right by her and it starts.  I think she's either going through a growth spurt, since we've also been having a few sleeping issues, or she's just getting bored quickly.  Its really hit and miss, I can move her to a different area and that calms her down for a few minutes then its back to whining. She just seems to want to be held a lot lately also. So no real advice :-/ Just know your not alone :)

  • @kendy20‌ in glad I'm not alone. Maybe it is a growth spurt. She's been up for 3 hours and is refusing to nap even though she's super whiny! Like you said she just wants me to hold her all day but mommas gotta get stuff done!

@KBowen715‌ there have been times I've thought she was whining only to find out she was just talking. I think now she knows she gets a reaction from it too.

Well I guess she is going through the relationships leap as well:
    Cries more often or longer
    Asks for more attention
Sleeps less, sleeps worse, and eats less
    Has mood-swings
Is not pleased with many things

That pretty much sums it up. I didn't think sleep could get any worse but I was wrong.

  • DS doesn't do the whining thing, but he's learned how to scream really high. Hurts my ears, hurts my poor dog's ears, and it gets annoying real fast.

DS has been doing this when he's tired also. It's keeps going until I put him down and he's out. It may be that she's just tired.
  • Lots of new noises! My fav is a high pitched shrieking while lunging at my boob!

Yup this right here except also throw in the fake cough to get your attention! He just started sleeping better too and now last night was up three times before 10PM. ugh I just want a night of sleep where he wakes up ONCE and lets me put him back down in his crib.

  • We went through that last week. I don't want to jinx it but no whine this week....yet. I kept thinking it was her exploring her voice but it finally stopped. ;)
  • UGH yup. He mainly does it when you put him down. And he makes this face like I just took his favorite toy and stomped on it in front of him.

Ugh - yes, my three year old is horribly whiny... wait, is this about the babies? But really, the baby is doing it too. I think for him it's that he's trying his voice out to see what he can do!

  • DS has started whining/moaning right as we're getting ready for bed or a nap and then sometimes does it in the MOTN if he wakes up or as he's falling back to sleep. So I've just been assuming it's his "I'm tired" sound.

  • I think it's that leap too and it's a month long (oh joy!). My son fusses when I'm changing him any time, when he's bored, when I'm far, when I'm near (but not as bad as far). Yeah we are all about the baby wearing except when he whines about that too lol

  • I wish mine would let me wear her but she hates them all!

  • If DD isn't whining, she's yelling at her toys. It's funny for like 30 seconds, then it gets old.

This is us too. It's so hard to get anything done right now.
  • DD did the high pitch whining all last week. I thought I was going to lose it! So far, so good for this week. She still does it, but at least it isn't all day.

  • My little guy has discovered screaming as well but he does it when he's happy or playing. It startells people because he just sits there and sckreaches at the top of his lungs over and over again with this big grin on his face, but when they can't see the grin they look at me like "Why are you making your baby that mad." and I just want to face palm.

  • Mine has started the whiney voice again. Everything lately is a mad grunt or whine. It's like can you be happy for more than 2 minutes. She just gets so frustrated when things don't do what she wants and bored easy. I think it's mostly because she's overtired from not sleeping well and refusing naps.
