rapid weight gain

Hi Ladies! I am 6 weeks pregnant and I have been taking prednisone for treatment of Sarcoidosis for the past 11 years. My concern is, for the past week and a half, I have gained 6 lbs. I know that there will be weight gain but isn't that a bit early? Should I have gained 6lbs already in the first trimester? I don't want to be obsessive but because I am on prednisone I don't want this weight gain to become completely out of control for my health and the babies...

6lbs at 6 weeks seems like a lot to me. I'm almost 20 weeks and have only gained 9 lbs.

I have heard for the whole 1st tri 7lbs is the average weight gain.
