  • Actually the side of the box says to talk to your provider of you are pregnant.
  • I don't recall asking you to do any research for me. Thanks though!! :-?
  • Good god, I'm done.
  • ...Or seeking approval from pregnant peers (strangers, I might add) to justify their actions. Not a good idea, IMHO. Always best to trust your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry, I say.

hooper4668 :If your doctor banned tea, why would you risk it? Obviously there's a reason for no tea right?

I think your best bet is to a) Google it and b) ask your doctor

If you're wondering if anyone has tried yogi tea.. *raise my hand*
But I feel hesitant to share my experience reading that your doctor has banned tea for you.  When my doctor has actually "okayed" to increase my caffeine intake

  • A lot of herbs are abortifacients. Meaning they actually abort fetuses. A lot of herbs are also emmenagogues. Meaning they promote and encourage blood flow.

Herbal teas are NOT safe. In fact they are far less safe than plain old black teas. Unless you are the one mixing it yourself AND you know what you're doing. There's a reason your dr told you no tea.
Humm...I ended up learning something from this post. I always knew I wasn't supposed to drink but never knew why. I guess when my Dr. said no tea, I didn't question it, but it's nice to know the reason why.

  • I stopped drinking herbal teas the moment I found out I was pregnant. It's just a risk I personally won't take. I will drink regular black tea occasionally though.

You did ask whether we thought it was safe, and if anyone had tried them.  Unless those were rhetorical questions.

Well, in all fairness to the OP, she didn't actually ask if they were safe. She asked if they were save.

    Lol just saw this. True...

  • I had some yogi tea at about 4 or 5 weeks after a yoga class. It was only one small cup. I had no negative side effects.

But after finding out that I can't have caffeine or herbal teas I gave it all up as best as I could. Very rarely, I'll drink a cup of decaf coffee or tea.
  • @somerandomchick thank you!!! I won't feel so gulity about the occasional cup of soda, decaf coffee or tea.
  • The nursing support is definitely not recommended because of the fenugreek, it can cause contractions/premature labor. Fenugreek is a galactologue that's meant for use while breastfeeding, but not for use when pregnant.

  • Well I thought it was! Thanks for the input!
  • I love when people post sensible comments. I'll talk to the Dr about this brand. Thanks!
  • Th midwife practice I go to, who is into using safe natural (sometime herbal) remedies, wouldn't want me to drink red raspberry tea until 3rd tri.
