Funeral attire for kids

I haven't had to attend one since I had either of my boys, but my grandmother passed Sunday and we have her service coming up. What should I dress the boys in? I am just not sure what is formal enough or appropriate. I usually wear a black dress and DH has a black suit he usually wears but I guess I feel a little lost dressing little kids for it, as they obviously don't have suits.

I happened to have khakis when DS1 was born and my great grandma passed. I would just do the nicest outfits you have but wouldn't go overboard buying fancy outfits they will never wear again. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'd put my son in khakis and a collared shirt. That's what we did with DS when DHs gram passed. A little color is probably fine. People tend to get a smile on their face when they see the person's grand or great grandbabies there...at least that's what happened with us. DS was about 1.5 at the time... needless to say he and I didn't seemuch of the service.

Thanks ladies for the insight and the kind words. I think I will have to go get some khaki pants for both boys since neither have ones that fit, but we will get good use out of them aside from this.

Sorry for your loss. I would go with whatever outfit you already have that they will be comfortable in and is weather appropriate. Even if it's jeans and a tshirt in neutral colors. I doubt anyone will care what the babies are wearing.

I'm sorry for your loss. We're actually doing the same thing right now. My great uncle's visitation was today and the funeral is Thursday. Here is what DS wore today, the one for Thursday is similar. JcPenny has some nice stuff for fairly cheap. We plan on repurposing them for fall/Christmas photos.
