$5.99: LO Eyelid Droop

If this is worth more than the standard $5.99, LMK.

I first noticed DD's right eyelid drooping (only when tired) at 2 months old, so I took her to the Pediatric Ophthalmologist last year. The Dr. said that minor drooping/eye drifting is natural in infants and that DD's eye muscles would strengthen as she got older. He was not worried and issued a clean bill of health.

Fast forward to last week: DD's right eyelid drooped during her 15mo appointment (first time Pedi had witnessed it firsthand), and Pediatrician expressed concern that the droop might be interfering with her vision.

DH took DD to see the Pediatric Ophthalmologist on Tuesday because I had a conflict (I am kicking myself for not going!). The Dr. was concerned about the eye droop until DH showed him a bunch of pictures on his phone, which showed that a slight eye droop began as early as November of last year. Apparently, sudden onset of an eyelid droop can be indicative of very scary things, like neurological disorders and brain tumors, so a past history ruled out most of the scary possibilities. After a full workup, the Dr. explained that while the eyelid droop slightly interferes with her vision (she has to tilt her head 15% to look straight ahead), she does not need glasses, surgery, or a patch at this time. He wants to reevaluate in 6 months, but DH said that he did not seem overly concerned and advised that while he could do surgery to tighten the muscles in her eyelid, it might not be necessary.

While it may be true that the eyelid has been drooping off-and-on for over a year,  the eye droop only occurred when DD was tired. Now, the droop is constant and MUCH more pronounced (see picture below). Also, I have a history of childhood strabismis ("lazy eye"), which was surgically corrected in 1st grade, so I am nervous that we are ignoring a bigger issue.

My TLDR/$5.99 is this: LO's right eyelid droops, and my PPA brain is worried that it is indicative of a larger issue. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Any experience? (Thanks in advance!)

Sorry for the novel.

At least her eyes are not slowing her down. This was my happy kid this morning while playing with chalk on the front stoop:
