Are blood pg tests 100% accurate

I ended up in the dr office Friday sick.. stomach flu.. the dr did a pg test just to make sure and it came back negative. my period was due yesterday and still nothing.. could I of ovulated later and the test not be accurate yet? or is that a pretty accurate test even before a missed period?
