Sandbox during winter?

DD has a plastic crab sandbox and we live in Michigan. Do we need to bring this in and store it over the winter? We are storing all of the other plastic stuff. Will the plastic crack if we leave it outside? What does everybody else do with their sandboxes during winter months?

I live in New England and have a plastic turtle sandbox with a cover.  It is left outside year round and have not had any issues with the plastic cracking.
