Pregnant after 35

DH (or partner) has been extra awesome because...

I always love threads about amazing DH's, so share your stories here!

My DH has definitely stepped up to the plate this last month, with chores and overall being super positive and sensitive. So much so, that when I asked him to mail SIL's birthday gift almost two weeks early (I got the day mixed up with BIL), he went right ahead and did it, no question.

He was that committed (afraid?) to not starting a disagreement or upsetting me, that he wouldn't correct me. Then when she commented on how early it arrived, he went right along with it, saying he had upcoming travel/work that he would be really busy with and wanted to make sure it got sent.

Super funny and sweet, but wow, scary to think that I've really been that crazy-emotional!

  • My poor DH is doing so much to help with the girls and help me get my insane lists done.

He bought me new pendant lights for over my tub and they were installed tonight and I love them!! (I will try and attach a picture but I'm really bad at it so sorry in advance if it doesn't work).

He truly is such a great husband and dad. I'm always telling my girls how jealous I am of them for having such a great daddy!

  • DH is pretty good most of the time.  He gets a little annoyed at my complaining sometimes which bugs me but for the most part he's been good.  He's just not home all that much. Usually, he has to be leave too early for work to be able to take kids to school.  he took them today but that's a rarity.  He gets home to late to pick them up so I do most drops offs and pick ups every day.  I work full time.  He's typically not home in time to cook dinner either so that's me too. if he does happen to get home early though..  he will tell me to sit down and he'll do the cooking and cleaning up.  Right now I'm just soooo nauseous!!

Ughh are we going to do a complaining thread too? Bc I am in a super bad mood about DH being completely absent all week due to work and work related dinners (as in 7am-10pm) and doing elective stuff on the weekends that also leads to him being gone all the time. I can barely function I am so tired from it all.
  • @ewenner my hubby HATES letterbox duty but took it over the minute we found out. I love him for not complaining. I don't mind doing the boxes but he says no way....not even with gloves and a mask.

  • My hubby is pretty wonderful most of the time! He took on the litterbox when we foundout. He brings me bottled water, by the case, to the bedroom- because I dont care for the well water taste. He takes care of the trash (quick, iits stinky!) And he will rub my feet if I ask. I had to have him put my socks on for me one day :-)

  • My DH has been amazing with anything chore related. He cooks and does the dishes and the laundry. He also gets me water whenever I ask and suggests I go lie down after dinner!

I'm gonna be pregnant all the time at this rate! LOL!

  • Last time I used the Bump as a distraction from a pretty crappy DH - this time I'm proud to brag a bit and use it as a way to keep my Facebook baby free but still get my questions and comments out there :)

My mom helped me with my son today and gave him waaaay too much fruit - DH cleaned up two major poop accidents and gave DS two baths because I couldn't handle the smell!
He's also been awesome about helping prep dinner because my fatigue is out of control this time.

For the record same DH for this pregnancy just lots of therapy and sobriety :)
  • DH was totally supportive of me taking advantage of an opportunity for a two week trip to Spain with my bestie, even though it meant missing his birthday.  When I came home Monday night, dead tired, he made me a snack in bed, and rubbed my feet.  Meanwhile, while I was gone, he hosted a new staffperson from my office who neither of us had met but needed a place to stay for a week or two, kept the house in a reasonably clean state (for him anyway - I know this was effort!), and took care of some household projects, like getting some landscaping done and someone lined up to do some painting (yeah, it would be great if he actually did any of these things himself, but it's not his thing, and I appreciate that he's getting the work done, however that happens.)

Overall, he's been incredibly supportive, taking on extra chores, coming to midwife appointments, celebrating little milestones, and just being his all-around kind and loving self.  I'm a very lucky lady!

  • I have to share about my husband. I have been unbelievably stressed at work- to the point where I was begging him to let me quit. On top of that I have been suffering from restless leg syndrome very badly. From about one month on until a it 2 weeks ago I would get between 1-3 hours of sleep a night and it was not in one session. I was miserable. So one night he came in and said he was giving me my holiday present early because I needed cheering up. ( keep in mind that he is not romantic or creative at all!). My present was a Stoler charm for my pandora bracelet and a card written to mommy (also keep in mind I am a FTM). The card said "'mommy, I am sorry I have been keeping you up all night but I will make up for it with lots of hugs and kisses". A little thing, but one of the most amazing things he has done for me. He also told when I'm at work and stressing just to look at my bracelet and remember what is coming. AMAZING
  • Oops. Wrong year
  • I had a migraine yesterday and DH watched DS while I napped for 3 hours

  • My SO will be a first time dad after being an amazing stepdad for the last 4 years. He has thrown himself into being there for everything and actually being involved in appointments. On top of working 50 hours a week so I can be home he has taken on much of the grocery shopping and a lot of the household stuff. My favorite things he does though is tell me every day how amazing I look as I grow and he gets a little emotional every time we hear the heartbeat. After three previous pregnancies I basically experienced myself, this is amazing to me!
  • I've been so sick this week and he's really helped out with our sons and around the house more than usual
