Help Dr. CD Board!

P has been fussier than usual and not sleeping well all weekend. When I changed her diaper tonight, there was a small spot of greenish brown in the front. It could have been a shart, she gets green poo when I eat wrong. But it also could have been discharge.
I looked at her bits. It looked like there might have been redness around her urethra. Hard to see clearly with all the kicking.
Anyone have any thoughts, advice, suggestions? I think I'm planning to get up and check Her diaper again before work, then go in to work and call the ped when they open. Assuming she still has no fever in the morning. If she has a fever, straight to dr. Yeah?

When I had a UTI I didn't have weird discharge that I remember, and I peed blood. Also it felt like peeing razors, and the pain got so bad I couldn't walk, all in a very short time span. I'd call the doctor if it looks irritated in the morning or fever like you said, but I think you'd have more of a clue to a UTI.

I'm new to this baby thing, but I know adults can get UTIs that are pretty asymptomatic. When I have a UTI, I *typically* don't even know it until a random urine sample shows it, or until I end up peeing blood with a full blown kidney infection. Hopefully her not acting in pain means she's fine, but I would probably play it safe and give the dr a call regardless.

I've gotten UTIs a lot and never had discharge. Only symptoms were constant feeling of needing to pee and not being able to, and slight blood when it gets really bad. I'm not familiar with babies getting UTIs but I would imagine she'd be screaming her head off often, at least that's how I feel when I get them. My vote is that it was a shart.

I'm not sure what it was, but hopefully it was just a mystery sharr and she'll feel better by morning.

I could be wrong, but I thought babies were more likely to have asymptomatic UTIs than adults...

She's in a good mood so far. But there was definitely more of that discharge or whatever. No fever still. I'm about to call the ped.

Also I love that we all just had a conversation about sharts and not a single person batted an eye or giggled like an 11 year boy.
That's probably just bc @stoneycakes‌ and @stringy813‌ aren't here.

Ok. As an update on P, and to anyone who googles after this moment. Is it normal for my infant girl to have vaginal discharge? Yes. Yes it is.
Baby girls often have a greyish green, sticky discharge that will come and go, only lasting for a day most times. It's normal and nothing to worry about.
If there is a foul odor, blood, or fever, go back to the ped

Of course, it would have been nice if nurses line knew this instead of saying they had never heard of such a thing and I should definitely take her to the dr ASAP. But peace of mind costs about 30 bucks. The more you know.
