New Here: Introduction:)

Hi, My name is Erika and I am new to this group. Just wanted to provide a quick introduction. My husband and I have been married for three years, together for a total of 10. We have a 10 1/2 month old little boy, who is awesome! I work as a school psychologist and adjunct faculty member at a local university. I am also writing my dissertation, I should graduate with my doctorate in Aug 2015...thank God!! Lately, I have been feeling the struggle of the balance, the stress....incredible! I am sure I overloaded my self in the last few months, but before my son balancing this level of commitment was a piece of cake...boy, has motherhood changed that! I dealt with anxiety in August, which has now gotten much better, but lately I have been emotional and randomly upset with my husband because I feel like he is not pitching in, and even when I explain this to him, he does not seem to get it....In a nutshell, I am looking for the support of other working moms who may be able to relate to what I am going through. I look forward to being part of the group and getting to know everyone. ))))

Totally get you. And welcome! I read somewhere once (I think it was Carolyn Hax) that with a baby, you may both be giving 100% and both wondering why the heck the other one isn't pitchinf in because being a parent is just that hectic. And you sound driven and high- energy, so it may be that your 100% is a lot bigger than his. (Or that's how I delude myself when I find myself wanting to wring DH's neck!

Welcome! Baby is a huge adjustment for a couple, not just at birth but as he enters different stages: independent toddlerhood, terrible twos, starting school. In other words 18+ years from the birth of your youngest may require some work :P We're all dealing with this in some form or another so pipe in!
