edited October 2014 in TTC After a Loss

Hey y'all. I hope you are ok that I am taking over the check in. @Frenchteachermama was a great check in leader, I hope I can fill her shoes!!

This is the weekly check-in for TTCALers who are also dealing with infertility. If you'd like to join us please feel free to intro with your diagnosis and history. We've had a few extra challenges thrown at us, ladies. Come here for snuggles from people who get what you're dealing with.

Fill us in, along with any other updates or vents you need to get out, TTCAL or NonTTCAL related.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know.  If you do not PM me I will not mention you in the check-in.  If we haven’t heard from you in a few weeks please come back in with an update; or are new and want to join please post a brief intro with your DX and current/future treatment plans and then you'll be added to next week’s check in!

Re: ** IF Check In **

  • @megrae12 Thanks for the check-in. How are you?

    I just started my 5th Femara cycle. This time with trigger and TI. I have my mid cycle scan a week from tomorrow. It is the first time I will see my RE since June. I am trying to stay hopeful.

    I'm ok, thanks for asking! FX for you this cycle. I hope the trigger gives you the extra boost you need. Maybe your RE can offer some insight. Do y'all  have next steps planned out?

  • AFM: We triggered yesterday. I had one really good follie, so here's hoping.  Can I just say that it is very hard to do TI when your MIL is in the house? It makes sexy time not so sexy. One thing is for sure, she is keeping us hopping so my TWW should be fairly busy. This means I will not have much time to dwell and commence the crazy  [-O<

  • Thanks for the check-in @megrae12!  Thank you so much for taking it over!!

    AFM:  I'm 2 weeks away from my 10/30 FET.  I have an ultrasound on 10/23 to check my lining and see what's going on with the fluid in my uterus.  I've been on IM estrogen shots for about a week now.  DH is out of town and I had to have a shot on Saturday and I was so proud that I gave the shot to myself!!  I have 2 papers due this week for my doctorate classes and then my mom arrives on Friday so I have lots of things to distract me!

    ((hugs)) to all of you!

  • Thanks @megrae12 for taking over the check-in! FX for you!!! Gotta love visitors when it's sexy time, as if we don't already have enough adversity to deal with!

    @rubysi FX this new protocol does the trick!

    @Frenchteachermomma great job making the shot happen, it can be so unnerving. I hope your next appt goes well and gives you some answers.

    AFM: I triggered last night and we have an IUI scheduled for first thing tomorrow morning, I am feeling really good about this medicated cycle. Although, and maybe you ladies could give me some insight, I ran a half marathon this morning and right around mile 11 I had a few pains that I could only describe as the feeling that something was bursting in my ovary area. Follicles bursting out for ovulation? If so, would that mean I ovulated too early and our IUI will be for naught? I sure hope not.

    Hugs to all those that need them this beautiful Sunday!

  • I am still in limbo.  My betas are down to 0 so I'm hoping AF comes soon.   We're going to try 1 or 2 cycles on our own before going back to treatment.   We'll probably do 1 or 2 IUI's and then anohter IVF cycle in the spring.

    Way to go on the half marathon!! I do not think you will have ovulated to early, it seems that they would have wanted you to ovulate today/early tomorrow. I would assume they already want your egg released before the IUI. That way the egg is already on its way to the sperm, make sense? That is my two cents about it anyway, so take it with a grain of salt. ((Hugs)) and FX this cycle

    @megrae12‌ yeah, I guess that's the thought process. I have a lot of unanswered questions about oral meds cycles. My regular nurse wasn't in last time, so I'm hoping to get my questions answered this week

    @Feegan‌ wow, super woman running a half with big ovaries! I'm impressed. Did you have sex at all the last few days?

  • Newb here... I intro'd in a separate post on Friday, and my history is detailed in my siggy. I'm still bleeding from my loss on 10/3. OB said I can expect to bleed for 2-4 weeks. I'm planning to buy a new BBT with a memory on it, so I can be more consistent about checking every AM (even though temping hasn't been successful in the past). We are scheduled for an appt with our RE this coming Friday to review all of my labs and baby's chromosomes to see if we can figure out what happened with our little boy. We're planning for another IVF in the Spring/Summer, but since were 100% OOP and are still paying off the last cycle, we've got a bunch of changes coming to afford it. At least now we know I can get pregnant, I guess.... Looking forward to getting to know you all... GL to those of you in the middle of treatment cycles!

    @Rachaeleigh We last HIO on Thursday night, DH won't HIO with me less than 3 days before an IUI because he's worried about his numbers as they were really low in the past. (Not lately though) I had 2 mature follicles on each side when I had my final monitor sesh Friday, they had me take one more shot each of the Gonal & Cetrotide, and then I triggered last night at 10 PM, IUI is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10 AM. I am hoping that one of those follies gets the job done!

    Maybe the pain you felt was just your ovaries jostling all around in there! The trigger shot should really control ovulation, so you're probably fine!

  • Thank you for taking over @megrae12!

    I'm currently in the middle of a medicated cycle (225/day of Gonal). I see my RE on Tuesday to see if any eggs have developed and/or are mature. Once they are ready we will be doing another IUI.

    Sounds like I'm in good company with the shots/prep. this week. Good luck and best wishes to everyone!!

    I am still in limbo.  My betas are down to 0 so I'm hoping AF comes soon.   We're going to try 1 or 2 cycles on our own before going back to treatment.   We'll probably do 1 or 2 IUI's and then anohter IVF cycle in the spring.
    Limbo sucks. I am sorry. Will you be temping for those natural cycles? ((Hugs)) and I hope AF shows her face soon.
    Absolutely.   I don't know what my cycle will be like post m/c so I think that'll be the only way I'll know if I O.   Otherwise I'm as regular as it gets.
  • @rubysi Good luck with your RE appointment.

    @megrae12 FX for a good cycle.

    @frenchteachermama Good luck on your FET!

    @feegan Good luck at your IUI tomorrow!

    @Rachaeleigh ((HUGS)))

    @FutureMrsWright2012 Welcome.  I'm sorry for your loss.   We are also thinking of doing our second IVF cycle this spring.   Like you, we did our first IVF cycle with no frosties and got pregnant, then m/c.  It sucks that treatment for IF costs so much.

  • @26summer... I completely agree. Sorry for your loss as well. Hopefully, 2015 will be a much better/successful year for both of us.

  • @megrae12 I like the term "sexy time". FX that secretive sex time does the trick. Good luck this cycle and keeping busy during the 2ww is the best way to be.

    @Frenchteachermama Wow that's s a busy 2 weeks. Good luck on Thursday. I hope the lining is good and the fluid is gone. Good job on the shot.

    @Feegan I am not sure but I believe it takes a while for the egg to travel and because the sperms is directly deposited in your cervix it should be fine. Way to go on the half marathon...that's awesome.
    FX the iui does the trick.

    @Rachaeleigh I am sorry about your cycle.

  • @megrae12- Thanks for running the check in. I'm sure it is difficult having your MIL at your house during your fertile week.
    @rubysi- I hope your scan went well.
    @Frenchteachermama- I'm glad you were able to give yourself the shot!  Good luck on your ultrasound.
    @Feegan- I hope your IUI went well. I'm don't have any advice on your question.
    @Rachaeleigh- Sorry AF showed.
    @26summer- FX that AF will be here soon.
    @FurtureMrsWright2012- Welcome to the check in! Sorry about your loss and hope your bleeding stops soon! Hopefully your RE can come up with a plan. ((hugs))
    @KM380- I hope you get answers at your next appointment.
    @CandST2014- Good luck tomorrow!
    @O2girl- I'm sorry you are going through such a rough time.  I wish there was something else that I could say.  ((Hugs))

    AFM- Well I won't be able to schedule my HSG this month. The only day that they have an appointment is the day I have my follow-up for my root canal.  Since my dentist isn't finished the root canal, I don't want to reschedule my dental appointment.  If all goes well on Wednesday, he will be able to finish up the root canal next week.

  • I'm a newbie here as well.

    We have done 2 cycles of Clomid + TI with our RE, the second of which worked and then didn't (why I'm now on this board). We've been trying for almost 2 years. Diagnosis is mainly unexplained infertility, although I tend to be hypoovulatory with stress, weight loss, too intense workouts (last two are much easier to modify). My RE had initially wanted to go straight to IUI but we wanted to try this first (DH has no problems).

    Right now I'm still TTA (waiting out AF) but was hoping to introduce myself here. I had a Cytotec assisted natural MC so we're potentially looking at a medicated cycle first cycle after AF. We haven't made plans yet but leaning to just going to IUI. Beta was still elevated at 221 today so looks like a ways to go.

  • Bump... Hi @megrae12... Hope your 2WW is flying by with good news coming! :) I was just wondering when we get to do the IF check in again? It has been so helpful to connect with others in my situation since there's no one IRL that truly understands. Please let me know if I can help in any way (even though I'm a newb!).
