DH took DD1 out yesterday to pick out her "special thing" to do with Daddy over Skype while he's gone. They got matching books, one for her to have here and one for him to take with him so they can read it together. He got one for DD2 and LO, too.
Today he took DS to get his special thing. He refused to get book, refused to get a card game, and was dead set on a chess set. So DH broke down and got 2 chess sets. DS is so not up to chess. DH is trying to teach him the basic rules, but any time DS isn't "winning" he gets really upset. This is going to be a really long 6 mo's!

Well I did something. I got the discolored onesies soaked and washed, so no more spit up stains it looks like. I just hope they don't magically reappear when they dry. Also washed the carseat cover and got the swing put together. It isn't as cool as the rockaroo, but I got such a deal on it, I thought that it would be irresponsible not to get it. I hope it works out, though.
Now I just need to do grocery shopping and finish my hospital bag. But I need to rest for a while. Cramps, contractions, and overall feeling of weakness are not fun.
@MmmPopcorn I'm 36 + 3. DS was in the NICU for 10 days, so even though it's considered "late preterm," I'm very happy to know that we're getting a little more lung development out of this baby! I won't feel 100% confident til we get to 38 weeks. That's arbitrary, but it's nice to have a number in mind, for some reason.
@hjenni my midwife practice is the same way. We have group classes instead of appointments, and I feel like half our time is spent in "rah rah breastfeeding" mode. I nursed my first for 2.5 years so if I'm getting annoyed by all the breastfeeding propaganda, you know it's bad!

@Jpinky9 Happy anniversary! Today is our second anniversary, clearly 10-19 is a great day to be married
Add me to the list of those feeling totally unmotivated. Woke up feeling sick, thank goodness the Hawks are playing early! I just rolled from bed to the couch to watch the game, hopefully I'll feel better by the end and actually get something done!
Happy anniversary to you as well!!! A great day to get married!!
H finished off the ice cream AND the oreos while I was napping. That man likes to live dangeriously.
When my husband does stuff like that I stare down my husband, rub my belly, and say "I'm sorry tiny human, mommy didn't want to be a single parent but your daddy have her no choice!"
Well, I finally dusted off the cobwebs and had sex w/ DH today. Something (everything?) about sex when you're 35 weeks pregnant w/ twins is a shit show. Good lord was it bad! Looks like I'll be getting my jollies from Ben & Jerry's tonight instead... :-S
I really want to know when we can start posting our Christmas decor. I can't wait to hang LO's stocking up, It was the first thing I bought when I found out about her.
@kyliedaniellexx - love the Batman ones! DD2 desperately wants me to get LO a "Batman Baby" costume for Halloween. My sister is a huge batman fan and all the kids point it out anytime we see it.

@kyliedaniellexx Love the clothes! My husband insisted on getting "boyish" clothes for our little ones, which is fine by me. But I got tutus and head bows to girl them up (because I like them, not because I think anyone has to). For example, our little angel has a Star Trek Next Generation uniform onesie... and a black tutu and head bow to girl it up.
@kyliedaniellexx it's about time LO had some clothes! I love second hand stores too. I wish we could go thrift shopping together.
@Emnob28 omg cinnamon rolls. Someone else mentioned them a couple days ago but they didn't post a picture. I hate you.
@meeshybee that's so sweet about each of your kids having a thing while DH is away. Not going to lie- it made me tear up. I can't imagine how you feel xx.
Any Ontario ladies due November 30 go shopping today? I was at a baby store and met a woman who was due then and I was so curious if she was a Bumpie. I'm guessing no, but I thought I'd ask!
Shopping with MIL was a success! Got DH a watch for his birthday on Wednesday and finished up the baby shopping. MIL generously paid for the million things I had in my arms (change pad covers, car seat cover, car mirror, nosefrida, etc.) which was unexpected and very nice. I think we're as ready as we will be!
Hi ladies!! Hope everyone has enjoyed their Sunday!!! I just caught up on 4 pages and have love tited them but too many to tag! Looks like we've had some succesful showers, and yummy treats-- now I want apple pie and cinnamon rolls with ice cream on top! Happy Anniversary to my fellow 10.19ers (altho 10.19 is our dating anniversary, it's closer to my heart then our wedding one) (thanks for noticing @minibean16 !) I've been keeping busy all day with errands and cleaning house as well as making ribs and a cake for a big special dinner for DH & I (Apple Cider included cuz you know... 38 weeks pregnant). I'm soooo looking forward to it! It should all be ready in 30 min!
I was hoping LO would be born today.. Even though still just a little less than 2 weeks that would have been a special birthdate we had the spicy wings last night, went for a long fast walk, and I took the evening primrose oil ... All it did was give me heartburn, sore legs and a giant mess to clean up this morning. Lol. Lesson learned-- he'll come when he's ready!
Also I think pregnant women should be head of product development for food. I've never been a more creative cook than the last 6 months (after the nausea subsided).
You know what they should make?
Cinnamon roll ice cream.

@kyliedaniellexx--you can dress a girl in head-to-toe pink and ruffles and still have people ask how old "he" is if you happen to get a girl with no hair! DD's hair finally grew in at around age 2, and now everyone knows she's a she Half the time I just didn't correct them.
For the rest, congratulations on successful shopping trips and satisfying cravings! There are too many of you to tag!
I'm riding Team H pretty hard right now, but at least I got to hang out at a friend's baby shower and eat tons of cupcakes. I overheated a bit, but everyone had a great time.
When i lay down it feels like I need to burp or throw up. What is this? I'm reclined on the sofa but this is not the most comfortable position. It just started last night. Anyone else experience this??

Definitely! It's only gotten worse in the last week. Usually when I do sit up I end up burping and feel better.

Every single day. Zantac with lunch, or I accept I will never feel happiness again.
It's only 8pm non Sunday and I am super stabby about going to work tomorrow, it was the same way last Sunday, too (for good reason) The thought of answering: 1- no, I didn't have that baby yet, 2- yes, I did indeed drop, 3- yep, still positive it's not twins, and 4- no, I haven't grown since Friday... all day long tomorrow makes me want to cry
@silverwings72 I feel your pain, it's no fun at all. I agree w/ Zantac, also Tums (the "smoothie" kind is less nasty). Try propping your head up w/ an extra pillow at bed. I also (sadly) had to cut out spicy food & carbonated drinks.
Sorry for the novel, I feel like I've tried it all lol. These girls have been wrecking havoc on my digestive system for awhile!
I'm in the reflux boat, too. Never had it before this pregnancy, although I have had heartburn before. I always assumed they were the same thing. Tums is my bedtime snack.

Thanks ladies! DH just left to run down to the store. I am miserable right now. Why does this have to happen in my ninth month! Agh. #thestruggleisreal
Also I think pregnant women should be head of product development for food. I've never been a more creative cook than the last 6 months (after the nausea subsided).
Ben and Jerry's makes it and it's super yummy!
This is my and DH 'a favorite ice cream! We get it every single time we go grocery shopping. I think he's terrified they will stop making it. I think our fridge is 10 pints deep at the moment. I even made him an ice cream cake out of it for his birthday. Too bad I'm lactose intolerant this pregnancy or I would be scarfing it down right now!
@silverwings72...ugh...I'm sorry you're getting this now. The third trimester brought on regurgitating my food on top of the throw up/having to burp uncomfortable feeling. I hope yours doesn't get that bad.
My doctor approved 150 mg Zantac 2x a day, tums or Prilosec. The Prilosec is for when the Zantac stops working. I hope you feel better!!
@silverwings72 Im right there with @meeshybee. I take 2 tums before I go to sleep, sleep propped up or at least on an incline and usually wake up between 1:30-3 am and take one or two more. I hate tums but finally caved when the agony was too much
I randomly choked on water today and coughed for a good 45 min after. That sucks when you aren't pregnant, but with a 9 month belly the coughing is so much worse!

Yes! I seem to have forgotten how to swallow liquids lately and coughing is so painful!

Edy's make cinnamon bun ice cream too! It's slow churned so their "half the fat" type:

We're putting that on pecan pie tonight
