Terrified to take "the test"! (Long)

Funny story, eh, sort of...

I went out with some girlfriends I hadn't seen in a long time a few weeks ago. One other girl has 2 kids and we somehow got on the topic of having more kids and birth control. I just recently (about 2 months ago) started taking the pill again. My friend said she got pregnant while taking the pill and that worried me but then she said she was taking expired pills. I sort of laughed it off and thought "oh thank goodness!" That it wasn't a total random failure of the pill. (Karma?)

Fast forward to several days later when DH and I DTD. Afterward I go into the bathroom and remember the convo i had at dinner that night and looked at my BCPs... They freaking expired 06/13!!! I then check my period tracker and it's smack dab in the middle of my O-cycle. I started taking pills I had leftover from before I got preggers before, but I didn't even THINK at the time to look at the exp date on them. (Face palm!)

So long story short I'm now incredibly paranoid, and every little thing is making me question if I could be pregnant again. I know it would be a blessing but it wasn't our "plan" right now. Talk me off the ledge as I plan on buying a test tomorrow!

Take the test! Holding off won't change things anyway and you'll be so thrilled that it'll ease the shock that it wasn't in your plan.

Agreed take the test! At least then you have answers.

How long ago was it? Don't test until you o'd at least 10 days ago, or you might get false negative.

It was about 12 days ago. My period is supposed to start this week. I need to test before I start a new pill pack tonight.

Gah, sorry gals! Got caught up in birthday prep, but I did take the test and it was NEGATIVE! Thank you baby Jesus!
