Why are people trying to sell me shit?!

I'm just gonna vent here real quick- feel free to join!

Why are my friends on FB trying to sell me cleanses and makeup?! every time I turn around someone is pushing something. Fine whatever I just ignore the posts or hide them.

Well, I had posted recently that my whole house is sick. October blows here. I have severe asthma and allergies so basically October is always sinus infections and bronchitis for me. I follow my med regimen, get allergy injections, and stay as healthy as I can but there is no avoiding it. So I am currently battling both at the same time right now. The kids go to daycare and preschool and you guys know, one kid gets sick and inevitably so does the other. They both just had a virus that was sort of like coxsackie- fever and rash- that was going around the daycare.

So I just got a message from someone going on and on about her "product" and how I totes needs to check it out it's really healthy and will totes help us and you can drink your veggies by juicing them!!!

Umm, we already juice our veggies for the kids. We eat healthy. I don't think your cleanse or whatever it is will help cure my asthma. Like seriously? And it won't stop my kids from catching a virus. They take vitamins and probiotics and we are very proactive. But these things happen.

Like wtf though. PMing me acting like you know anything about my family's health and can "help". Come on.

Am I being overly sensitive here? I just find it so effing annoying. You post every day multiple times about your product- if I wanted it you would've heard from me by now!

Is this going on everywhere or do I just have obnoxious friends?

  • I posted not long ago about being sick and got an immediate PM from a FB friend about "Juice Plus" as well. I have a gazillion friends selling jamberry among other things. It is annoying.

  • I thought this was going to be one of those oil peddlers when you mentioned the sickness.

    They are all The Worst.

And the whole "virtual" party thing has only made it10000000x more annoying for the rest of us

I got oil peddled.  But actually it was a nice relative that just let me try the stuff, she's not pushy.

No one told me those oils smell like ass though.

  • Glad I'm not alone here.

I haven't heard if jam berry and juice plus. Right now I have an influx of Isagenix (ask me about financial freedom!!) Argonne and younique lash blast or some crap.

Wtf. This chick gives her kid these products. I'm kinda weirded out by that!

It's so effing annoying! Like I felt like she was implying that I don't give my kids healthy things to fuel their bodies and I am the reason they got sick. SERIOUSLY?!
  • Lol @bearfootz‌ yes! Some of them are def in every business. Idk how they keep track.

Honestly I have a few of the Isagenix ones that really irritate me. At least 3 x a day, they post video selfies talking about it to the camera. PMs. One girl posted a video like "you can work out and spend time with your kids" and the video was her doing pull-ups at the park on the monkey bars and "curls" using her daughter as the weight bar. And "oh financial freedom!". One girl quit her teaching job to just sell Isagenix. Posting constantly about her financial freedom. Funny- my mom knows her mom- the girl actually is in serious financial debt and is losing her house. But quitting her tenured job was def freeing!

I am legit Laughing because we live in the same area and I see these all the time on my feeds - Isagenix has blown up, Scentcy, and Shakeolgy. I haven't seen any Jamberries yet or the eye lash things but am sure it will hit my feeds soon!

Right?! Yeah keep an eye out for mascara (pun intended?). Lots of before and after close up selfies of people's eyes!

  • @stewgirl - I am appearently in an eye lash group on FB...what?

I don't know what Isagenix is...sounds too much like eugenics

the pampered chef stuff is decent and they usually feed you at those parties at least

  • Isagenix is apparently weight loss magic. Cleanse or something and you magically lose pounds and inches. It's totes amazeballs. But you have to spend a fortune on all the crap! Buys ok because it's a pyramid thingy so you just have to bug your friends to do it too and then they pay for your shit and if they but their friends you make money!! Financial freedoms! Release fat! Magic! Also make sure you tell all your friends who aren't doing it that they are ingesting poisons and toxins disguised as foods and they will die and be full of disease.

    No.

Idk really know what it is- the above is based off of the millions of posts per day.

Isagenix is HUGE here....so many teachers have quit to start selling it---or definitely focus more on selling it and still teach. What annoys me about their facebook posts, is they have their kids---toddlers, preschoolers, school age eating the shakes like it is the best thing ever.

  • My cousin is selling Mary Kay. She texted my mom and me asking us to buy more stuff so she can become a star consultant. Um, no.

My mom just got a call last night saying she was in the top 30 at the company. My mom did not care at all. She doesn't push sales. Just texts family when something goes on clearance

  • I respect that people do what they gotta do to pay their bills...but I find anyone thats overly pushy about selling any type of product to be down right irritating as fuck. If I need something, dont worry, I will seek you/it out. I dont need everyone and their mother soliciting me with a bunch of shit I dont need.

Thats the way I see it! Ain't got the money to waste on shit i dont need!

  • I do kinda wish a friend would start selling pampered chef though - I actually like those products

I got suckered into a pampered chef party and I actually got a good turnout and had 1300 in sales. I got $200 of free product, 4 half price products, discounted items etc. My kitchen is stocked with pampered chef and I use it all.

I am overrun on FB by friends who sell Arbonne, It works, Jamberry and 31. My next door neighbor, across the street neighbor, neighbor next to directly across the street and diagonal from my back yard all sell 31. There are too many damn SAHMs in my neighborhood.

  • Not gonna lie. I recently bought all the scentsy and jamberry. I got suckered. The jamberry work awesome on my toes. Like literally going on 3 weeks with the same ones. I can't get them on my fingernails properly though. I am scentsy obsessed. The girl I buy from just called and was like "You should sell scentsy! " I basically don't want to for the sole reason of having to talk to people and becoming one of those annoying people on Facebook.
  • That's me with Lia Sophia, @humptydance‌

I've thought about becoming a consultant but not actually selling it. I think they have goals to meet so I wouldn't last long.

  • I'm almost positive it's against Facebook's TOU to promote things like that on a personal page (you're supposed to set up a business page) so... Report the especially annoying ones :-\"
Unless it is phrase specific (like saying buy this now) I don't think so.  My star diamond upline actually discourages us from have fitness/community pages (which of course I ignored because I don't want to be that irritating ass and my personal page isn't going to be all about my business).  I have heard FB is going to make people start paying for community/business pages...which would really suck.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • I totally agree with you.  DH's cousin lost a TON of weight using Isagenics. DH really thinks he purposely lopped on the weight just to be able to have an awesome before/after picture.  He said, "He REALLY had to work at all the weight he put on." And I think he may be right.  And his cousin CONSTANTLY posts stuff about rich you can get on it.  Meanwhile his wife has gained a ton of weight due to constantly working a high paying/stress job and doing different fertility treatments.  "Glad you're working out hon, I'm at work."
