Swaddle update?

Hi ladies! Been a long time, but I've got a question and always find the best answers from the awesome J14s  The last swaddle thread I saw had a lot of great suggestions for zippadee and merlins magic sleep suit and Im wondering how those worked out for you and if you'd recommend them?

My LO is almost 5 months (geeeeeez…) and we swaddle for every nap and every night.  The kid CANNOT sleep w/o being swaddled and loves them.  He's also not rolling over yet and sleeps like a log at night on his back. (but is staring to scoot around like a catepillar Currently we use the summer infant velcro swaddles and the a&s easy swaddles but he has outgrown most of them and I know at this rate he wont fit in any by November.  He's still quite small for his age, 13#, which is why the swaddles even still fit now.  And he busts out of regular swaddle blankets like Houdini.

So, need advice! For my sanity and sleep at night.  Im getting scared…

LO only used a swaddle for a few weeks, but this last week I started using a sleep sack (he was moving and his legs would get caught up in the sleepers). I think he likes being snuggled in, too.

This is night 3. It's helping but not a miracle worker, you know?

@izzetoot‌ we transitioned out of Halo swaddles into the Baby Merlin sleep suit last week and it has been amazing! The first few nights, DS woke once to eat or for his binky, but has slept through the night since then..last night was 12.5 hrs straight!

Summer infant has Med/large swaddles that should fit him. You could try those. We've missed you!

Awww shucks Thanks, i miss bumping too.  It was like any every day thing while I was preggo and now I barely have time to feed myself! But I'm back!

We transitioned ds to the Merlin suit a couple of weeks ago. I used it for my dd too when transitioning out of the swaddle. Has worked great with both. DD took to it immediately. Ds had one iffy night where he woke up crying but since then has slept just as well as he was when swaddled. I highly recommend it.

we swaddled and transitioned to the zippy. Our LO sleeps really well in it and its been SO great to find something that works.

We started using a zippy last night. It's a little big for DD tho. She's almost 4 months and about 11.5 lbs. The zippys are supposed to start at 12lbs. But someone suggested that I cinch the arm holes in a little more with hair ties. We tried that and LO seemed to really like it. There was no struggle to put her in it like with the swaddle and every time she woke up she seemed really happy. She would just be hanging out talking to herself instead of crying. She still woke up tho about the same number of times. I order the zippy because she's rolled once and seems to be on the verge of rolling all the time. She def slept better in the zippy than trying to swaddle her with arms out. I'll let you know if the zippy gets any better or worse.

Starting the weaning process from swaddling. We are at one arm out now and he's doing well with it. We're going to try two out new week.
