I am a bad bumpie and completely forgot to post this on Wednesday!!  Sorry.. I am going to blame Columbus and his holiday!

How far along are you? I am officially 35+1 getting up there!
Upcoming appointments? My next appointment is Wednesday and I will have my first cervix check and she is going to poke around and see if she thinks the baby is growing big/small/normal.
Any updates to share? I think I have offically lost my ankles... I don't think the swelling is going to go down.  Other than that I seem to be doing ok physically.
How are you feeling? I am feeling ok.  I had a very emotional day yesterday, a year ago yesterday I had my D&C from my first IVF cycle.. so it was a pretty tough day but feeling a little better today.  Other than that I think everything that I had to report last week went back to normal... so I have no complaints.. I have moments of panic tho that I have less than 5 weeks left.. EEK!!!

How far along are you? 31 weeks! I feel like it's turning 31 years old...not as exciting as the last one where you enter the 30s. And 32 will be 8 months so there's that. But 31? just kinda there lol
Upcoming appointments? Next friday
Any updates to share? I was starting to panic (I never procrastinate so I have this vision of needing to be "ready" at 35 weeks) so I went ahead and bought all the "must haves" off my registry at target...that was a relief! After gift cards and the 15% discount, it was only about $300.
How are you feeling? Great! I hurt my foot so I had to give up my daily walks, which I was bummed about. But I'm hoping to get a swim in at the Y this week. Might need to get my "grooming" in order, but also wondering if I can play the pregnancy card and see if people will even notice. I'm terrible, I know.

Ashris13  Glad you're feeling a little better today.  Anniversaries are tough.  Very exciting to be starting the internal checks!  I started last week and had my 2nd today and it's nice to hear that I'm making progress.

How far along are you?  37w2d 

Upcoming appointments?  I just had one this morning with a growth scan, everything looks great!  They measured the baby at 7lbs 12oz give or take a pound, which sounds huge to me for 37 weeks but is apparently in the middle of the normal range so drs aren't worried about size (yet).

Any updates to share?  GBS negative, woohoo!  This was important to me because I want to labor at home for as long as possible to avoid pain meds, now I just hope that my water doesn't break too early.  Also, baby is engaged and I'm 30% effaced from 0 last week, so slowly moving in the right direction!

Also, I think that we are officially ready!  We got the last few must-have little items that we needed, car seat is installed, all baby stuff is set up, organized, and/or washed and put away, I have a good freezer stash of food, and I found a good daycare option.  LO can cook for another week or 2, but then I'm ready to say hello :-)

How are you feeling?  OK, tired, uncomfortable, and swollen feet, but normal stuff.

Upcoming appointments? I had an appt yesterday just to chat, our next one will be 36 weeks to check my cervix.  Oh joy. 
Any updates to share?  No updates -showers last weekend went well, got a lot of things but with no nursery furniture yet, the room is quite a mess.  I'm going to get some rubbermaids this weekend to help sort things, etc. Hoping the furniture comes in soon!
How are you feeling?  I'm good.  I've slacked off in the workout department (just walking and light weights), but oh well....my excuse is that I'm 34 weeks pregnant

QOTW: What is your hair color, and if you could change it to any other color what would you choose?  Brown - I've done highlights but right now it's probably just a mousy brown.  Not sure what is next.

How are you feeling? Good for the most part. My back and lower body are super sore today.

QOTW: What is your hair color, and if you could change it to any other color what would you choose? Light brown. I quit dying it because it was getting more thin. I have thin fine hair. Color is fine, just wish I had more. Haha.

Upcoming appointments? NST on Monday and I see my dr on Wednesday
Any updates to share? Still on limited activity due to my blood pressure, which luckily has been staying consistent.  Lab work still isn't bad enough to be considered pre-eclampsia (thank goodness!).  So just more waiting.  Really would like to get to November, but I'll take every day I can get at this point.
How are you feeling? Aside from my very swollen right leg, I feel really good!  

 

QOTW:  What is your hair color, and if you could change it to any other color what would you choose? Brown hair.  Experimented with dying it in college, but haven't since then.  I don't want to deal with the upkeep and expense!

How far along are you? 36w1d

Upcoming appointments? Had my weekly yesterday. A slight scare because my blood pressure was elevated, but that was because it took me 4 hrs (normal commute is 90 min) to get to the hospital (they closed the major highway into the city) and put us on one lane roads. . .Grr!! After they took my blood pressure, they had me signing forms for procedures and put the ID braclet on me. No mention of what was going on until about 20 minutes into my NST. BP went down over the hour so we all got a good laugh about the traffic and elevating my BP. Everything else looked good.

Any updates to share? I have an end date (happy dance) they have scheduled me for a c-section on 10/29. When we told my family back in April, my dad and his sisters were rooting for this date because it was their mother's birthday. She passed away almost 2 years ago and this would be such a neat treat for them to arrive on that date.

How are you feeling? I've hit the wall. I have no ankles and my feet look like elephant feet. Sleep is a joke at this point.

QOTW: Brown hair with natural blonde highlights. I experimented in college but it was just to much work. I don't think I will do again until the grey becomes noticable.

We have had an exciting week so far.

Our surrogate texted us on Tuesday to let us know that she was having strong contractions 4-6 minutes apart, feeling terrible, and was feeling much less movement.

The OB checked her and she was 80% effaced and 2 cm. The BPP was all fine and Squirt was practice breathing.

So we went to the city where she is (an hour away) to stay the night (just in case) and she took yesterday off of work (we came back home), she got a good night's sleep and was feeling much better today at our appointment.

Baby is very low today but they didn't check her cervix agin, they did a GBS swab on Tuesday (lab not back yet) and OB is pretty confident we will have our baby before November!

How am I feeling? Anxious! I just want our child with us and am so afraid something will go wrong at the end. 

QOTW: mostly gray. wish it was still dark brown.

@Ashris13 Thanks for another great check in! I'm glad it helped. Oh beware of the cervix check. Hurts like hell. No one told me, the 1st time I got checked I had no idea. I was probably close to 8 months. He told me I wasn't dialated and all I could think was "I am now" lol. I don't mean to scare you but I know I would have liked a heads up lol.

39 weeks today, No baby yet. I feel good overall but exhausted most days. I am ready to meet this boy! Lol. I had another ultrasound today. Baby is measuring between 8lb 9oz and 9lbs 4oz. We meet with Doc again tomorrow for a game plan. I wasn't dialated at last appointment and baby hasn't dropped but due to his size once I hit 39 weeks he said he may want to induce. As long as baby is less than 10 lbs I can try for vaginal. Doc said due to my size (I'm plus size pre pregnancy), vaginal is safer for both me and baby. If he can avoid csection he will.

DH thinks he is going to induce asap, but I don't know every week he says "we'll come up with plan next visit" and every week it's wait and we'll come up with a plan next visit again. It's a little frustrating but.i do love & trust my doc.

QOTW:
I am brunette. if I dyed my hair it would be red. As a teenager into my early 20s I died it red. I wanted Julia Roberts hair. I've done all shades of red. But unfortunately redistribution a lot of maintenance and I'm not that kind of girl.

How far along are you? 35+4 Upcoming appointments? Wednesday the 22nd I have my last ultrasound at 36weeks to see how big they are getting Any updates to share? I scheduled my c-section on Monday for November 5th I'll be 38weeks3days! The day after I scheduled it I started having contractions around 6pm. I did all the things they tell you to to see if it is real labor and contractions didn't stop. Waited almost 6 hours to go to the hospital and by the time I got there I was having contractions every 5 minutes and dilated to 1cm, also vomiting uncontrollably. They treated the nausea/heartburn and the damn contractions and dilation stopped with the vomiting. So I was sent home with heartburn medicine and I'm still bitter about going through that and not getting my babies. Although I know it's good they get to bake a little longer. How are you feeling? Still having contractions every once in a while but my heartburn is much better now that they put me on something stronger. QOTW: What is your hair color, and if you could change it to any other color what would you choose? My hair is brown and I like the color, I would maybe do some highlights if they weren't such a pain/so expensive.

Hello ladies, sorry I missed last week's check in, life has been hectic and will continue to be for the next few months.  

How far along are you? 31w3d
Upcoming appointments? I had one last week at 30w and will start having appt every 2 weeks from now on.   I'm having an US next week to make sure my placenta has moved up more and baby indeed has turned. 
Any updates to share?  Last weekend I threw my dad a 70th birthday party and yesterday we closed on our new house.  Yes I will be moving when I'm 8/9 months pregnant........Our condo still hasn't sold but we're crossing our fingers that it will soon.  We cannot be paying 2 mortgages for too long, especially with LO coming soon.  We also have a kitchen reno to do in the new house. I dunno how I agreed to all these, but oh well, too late!  Thank god we have great family members who will be helping us.  Another thing with us moving is, my OB will be much farther away, but I'm not changing dr or hospital this late in the game.  
How are you feeling? I feel well overall.  Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with the WORST heartburn!  And I still have leg cramps almost every other night.  Other than these I'm still pretty normal except for not being able to put on socks and paint my toes!  DH is putting socks on for me and I'll be getting pedicures from now on!  LO is getting cramped in there and her movements feel very different now.  I finally understand what people say by elbow jabs.  

QOTW: I'm Asian and have black hair (actually mine is more like very dark brown).  When I was younger I experimented with highlights but now I'm just proud to be wearing my natural hair color because it's my heritage.

Upcoming appointments? Next appt is Nov. 3rd, so still a few weeks off, after that I will start going every 2 weeks. 

Any updates to share? Have a busy week ahead, first shower this weekend, maternity session/3D US next weekend.  So lots of fun stuff planned  

How are you feeling? I'm feeling good for the most part.  The cloudy weather makes me tired though and it's been hard to get myself to study for school (in grad school + working).  My first stretch mark showed up and my varicose vein is getting worse, ugh......definitely not my favorite things about pregnancy.  Stupid genetics.  

QOTW:  I'm Af. American/Asian and my hair is black.  I could not imagine having any other color!  I did get highlights once in my life, like dark brown, most people didn't even notice I got it done.  I did enjoy them because my hair turns a little brown in the summer and I have always enjoyed that.

Any updates to share? Last weekend DH and I went down to Philly (we moved back home to upstate NY 2 years ago after living in Philly for 6 years) to spend time with our friends and see our godson. Had a great time visiting everyone and was surprised by my best friend and her DH who planned a surprised Harry Potter themed baby shower! I was so bummed because I didn’t think any of them would be able to make my mom’s shower since it’s on a Sunday afternoon 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. We got some REALLY good gifts! As DH and I were leaving the shower I got all girly and cried because I really miss my PA friends. I waited until I was in the car before I let my hormones get to me J

 

How are you feeling? I’m feeling ok, I’ve been starting to feel a little sluggish like I was in my first tri, but I think that’s normal. LO on the other hand has been moving around like crazy. It’s so much more intense than the little kicks and wiggles I was feeling 8 weeks ago!

 

QOTW: I’m Puerto Rican so my natural hair color is dark brown. I love coloring my hair and used to do it a lot in college, but I haven’t had the time lately. My sister is a hair dresser and it’s hard to fit in her schedule. I currently need a haircut and want to ask her for a dark brown to light brown ombre, but I always feel guilty taking up her time because she never charges me and refuses to take any money.

Upcoming appointments? We had an OB appointment and preadmission meeting with the hospital on Tuesday.  Everything looks great and we are all registered with the hospital.  we also met with the anesthesiologist and signed consents for the epidural.  We have our next growth scan with the MFM a week from today. 

Any updates to share? We have birthing class tomorrow and then maternity pictures on Sunday!  I think I finally decided on an outfit so I am looking forward to them more now than I was a week ago.   

How are you feeling? I feel pretty good.  My feet have been swelling more by the end of the day and my OB had to give me some serious stuff to get my bowels moving because the constipation was getting out of control and seriously causing major pain.  But other than that, not much to complain about.     

QOTW: I am a blonde.  A few years ago I went dark for the winter but my hair doesn't hold color very well so I had to really work to keep the color from fading right away.  Not worth the trouble to me.  So I am back to  my natural color.

Any updates to share? I have my shower tomorrow!  I am really excited about it.  I think it will be sort of a crazy weekend though because we have a lot of family from out of town staying at our house.  I'm hoping folks head out on the early side Sunday so I can catch up on some rest.  Getting the house professionally cleaned was fantastic, and I think we will definitely keep it up for a while!
How are you feeling? Ok aside from the heartburn.  As long as I take Zantac every 12 hours I can keep it in check for the most part.

QOTW:  What is your hair color, and if you could change it to any other color what would you choose? Red.  I used to hate being a redhead when I was younger, but now I love it.  I get so many compliments on it.  My only fear is that red is sort of a tough color to keep up once the gray comes in... I'm afraid I'll end up with some crazy shade like George Costanza's mother @-)

Any updates to share?  I was told today that I'm kicking pregnancy ass.  Got a good report at today's checkup, baby is head down and measuring on track.  I've lost 6 lbs from following the GD diet.  Was told to keep doing exactly what I've been doing and that I'm doing a fabulous job being pregnant.

How are you feeling? Honestly, I feel like a rockstar.  I realize how extremely lucky I am that I feel so amazing and fantastic.  I'm eating well and walking 2-3+ miles a day.

QOTW: I'm Italian and I have dark brown hair.  I'd love to be able to rock a reddish brown, but my hair doesn't hold dye very well.  I've tried over the years to make it happen, but it always fades.

My shower was last weekend and it went really well. My friends and family are too generous, and now I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate all this stuff into the nursery!

Upcoming appointments? I have my 32 week growth scan next week, along with my first AFP/NST monitoring
Any updates to share? I had a good midwife appointment yesterday. She was able to confirm that baby is head down, but curled up in the fetal position. She gave me some stretches to try to get him to straighten out. I'm also having some major hip pain, so she gave me a PT script and I start tonight!
How are you feeling? I'm feeling ok except for the hip pain mentioned above. It's keeping me from sleeping

QOTW:  My hair is currently it's natural mousey light brown. I'm usually a blond or a redhead, but my scalp is really sensitive right now. As soon as this little guy is born I'm going back to red, which is DH's favorite.

Updates to share I am officially out of "Jail"  They let me out at 32w 5d  We also have a scheduled induction of Nov 16th!  I'm very excited.  Now that i'm home its time to start getting everything ready.  I had my first shower the day after I got out of the hospital.  I didn't feel good at all but it was very nice

How are you feeling? I feel great!  I'm more tired now than I was when I was getting woken up every 4 hours but I'm out of there

Upcoming appointments?
I had one last tuesday and all looked great. Baby is head down and favoring the left side which I can tell! I now go every 2 weeks so I have another apt next Tuesday!

Any updates to share?
I had my shower this past weekend and it was amazing! I got tons of stuff and no where to put it all yet bc we haven't painted the nursery yet! My furniture was supposed to take 6-12 weeks and I just got the call that it's all in and ready for delivery and it's only been 3 weeks!!! So I told them they need to hold it in the warehouse for now lol. I know I need to figure out when we're painting so we can get cracking on the nursery! So much to still do!

How are you feeling?
I'm feeling pretty great energy wise still thank god! Sleeping has been a little rougher. Baby girl doesn't like when I lay on my left side so I'm pretty much sleeping on my right side or my back (proper up or with pillow underneath on one side) so when I wake up I'm pretty sore. Plus I've been getting up wide awake at some point between 5-7 lovely hormones! I'm defintely bigger now and feel myself slowing down and getting winded going up stairs and what not. Also the new thing is I'm having pins and needles in my right hand and my fingers off and on all day. I looked it up and it said it could be carpal tunnel syndrome from swollen hands and that it's common so that's lovely!
