DD wants to be held more

So I am at a crossroad, DD is almost 7 weeks and cries a lot when put down. I have been wearing her more around the house but wondering if this will become too much of a habit. My back can only handle so much and clearly I can't always wear her. Its tough bc at this stage you want to hold them a lot and know you will miss it when they are bigger but any suggestions on what to try? Is this just a phase? When she was a newborn and first got home I felt like she would lay around all the time without being picked up and am wondering if this has something to do with her becoming more alert?

you can't hold your baby too much. my dd needed to be held more because she had reflux. dd2 is chill and laid back and doesn't need to be held as much.

Hold your baby and wear her as much as you can. Young infants need the security of being held. They can't be spoiled. With DS1, I wore/held him for his first four months when I was on maternity leave. As he got to be about four to six months, he was more interested in toys and things around him and he preferred more time on the floor or in the exersaucer. Babies evolved and they won't want to be held forever.
