Hernias?

I just saw my PCM yesterday, and they said I have a herina.. It's below my sternum. Doc also said it should heal post baby, and if not I'll have to have surgery. Has any one else had this issue?

    I believe I have this. My OB called it a diastasis (diastatic hernia). When are lying down and go to sit up (like raising your head only and partially sitting up by leaning on your elbows) do you have a big vertical mound down your belly? Like a 'cone-shaped' belly? That was what I had read about how to tell if you have a hernia, or diastasis, below your sternum. My OB didn't say much about it just that it might make healing the stomach muscles after delivery take a little longer.

    She also said it's super common, not to be concerned.

    Yeah, that seems to be the same thing I have. Is yours painful? Mine can be. And it's rather annoying at times. My doc said it should heal PP.
