Level II Ultrasound??

I'm 19 years old, 30 weeks into my pregnancy with my first and my doctor requested i go for a level II ultrasound followed by a meeting with another doctor. He gave me no explanation other than he had some concerns about his eyes. Anyone had a level II or have any information about what exactly it could mean?

Level 2 is just a more detailed clear ultrasound. It is basically like going hd instead of regular TV

But good luck with his eye possible issues.

I had a level II ultrasound because I'm of AMA (yawn). It took quite a bit longer than a standard one and the picture quality was superior. I had the MFM doc do mine - she spent quite a bit of time talking about all kinds of risk factors only to then tell me she saw nothing. Try to keep calm - this stuff will scare you to death if you dwell on it.

I  had a level II due to some water retention in baby's kidneys.  It was at the maternal child health division at the hospital.  It lasted about an hour and was more detailed than the u/s at my OBs office.  We met with a maternal fetal specialist right after who gave us her recommendation on what she saw and potential treatment.

I have level IIs just b/c of age (twice yours plus a year!). They are a regular ultrasound but more detailed. That said, your doctor should be willing to share more info with you. Don't be afraid to ask and insist on some info.
