Eight months after we applied, we FINALLY got invited by DCF to take the classes.
In August, we had been told that because we're only applying to adopt and not to foster, that we're not a priority. That plus the fact that everything has taken so long caused me to be surprised to receive a voicemail message from DCF yesterday inviting us to take a spot in the next class, which starts next month and ends in February. Then who knows how long the home study will take. At least we're moving forward!
Happily married Mom to 2 beautiful little girls, 2 dogs and 2 cats (all rescues), 2 fish and one 29 year-old firebelly newt.
