LO had a cold a month ago which mostly healed. He still has a slight
runny nose. The thing that's bugging us is this lingering cough he gets
at night. Some nights he can't get a handle on it and wakes himself
all the way up hacking away. We take him into the bathroom and run the shower for
steam. Then we try to put him back to bed. Some times we sleep with him
on our chests as we sit up so the fluid doesn't come up. Any tips for
what else we can try? We don't want to use cough syrup until he's
older. He had his 1 year appointment 2 weeks ago and his chest sounded fine. TIA
I just heard the other day to use honey or corn syrup for cough..... It's supposed to help by coating the throat. Might be worth a try since honey is OK now.
@fiveohfive you know how it is every doctor says different. .. But I think most say 1. Mine actually said after 6mo. but to wait on eggs, peanut butter, ect. until 1. I didn't listen, I have egg and peanut butter around 11mo and still haven't given honey.
When I brought my girls in for cough/ cold they always tell me there's nothing that is effective for children under 4 on the market. You basically just have to wait it out and use a humidifier.

We tried a little bit of BabyVicks on his feet before bed and it seems to have helped.
