Beech-nut food for babies

I was wondering if anyone feeds their little ones the beech-nut brand baby food and if they like it over any other brand? I've decided to feed it to my daughter when we start on baby food and was looking for some feedback on it. Thanks (:

Re: Beech-nut food for babies

  • I do. I like that it comes in glass jars and I can get plain veggies. The pouches always seem to contain fruit which is overkill for every meal. Gerber comes in plastic. I also read that they cook the food a specific way that preserves vitamins. I only do purees for a couple months anyway but my son is enjoying them.

  • Awh good! I was looking on their website at how they make the food and they take the air out of it n stuff somehow lol and I also like that they have glass jars
  • This was the brand we fed Reese---I looked for food that just had one item in it in the beginning, and I liked the glass.

Interestingly enough, my MIL used beechnut food when my husband was a baby.

  • We use Beechnut or the Sprout pouches for when we're out and about, depending on what's on sale. I've been trying to get more meat/protein into DS, which is hard because he can't do milk or avocado, and has trouble with the texture of meat. So I've been trying to find baby food with meat in it but not milk (for some reason I can't bring myself to puree meat, it just seems super gross). Beechnut seems to be mostly veggies, but the Sprout ones are more mixtures.
  • I used it with DD.  There seemed to be a better variety of flavors than the other brands.  DD loved it and I remember walmart having a pretty good price on it and also if you cut off the upc codes and mail them back in they would mail you more coupons.  Check their website for that.
