We started ds2 on solids this week. The past few days he has had pears. Today he has a diaper rash. Should I assume they are connected? Possibly from the acid in the pears? I gave him apples today for the first time then he pooped and I noticed the rash. Would you stop solids until it clears up or just try something less acidic?
That is what I was thinking. We got a bunch of fruits from a co-worker whose daughter isn't on purees any more so I was trying to use them before they expire.
Pears make you poop, so the rash might be from more/looser poop also.
It takes a bit for their digestive systems to acclimate to anything other than BM/formula.
Two out of three of mine didn't have issues, but my formerly refluxy baby had some problems when we first started solids - constipated, diaper rash, etc.
Re: PR newb question
Skip the pears until the rash clears up, then try them again.
