Re: I would give anything in the world to poop!

  • I've been drinking a fruit smoothie with almost a cup of prune juice a day! Did the trick after about a week!

  • Eat fruit it helped me a lot yesterday
  • Lots of fruit always helped me and taking my stool softener before the prenatal vitamin helps plenty of water too
  • I'm on benifibre was on medimucil but tastes horrible. Benifibre is tasteless and can sprinkle/mix with anything it's been great! Been going regularly now I ll keep it up for a while. Never looked forward to a poop so badly!! Benifibre cost $9.50 from Coles

Switching prenatals was my ONLY saving grace. I ate fiber rich foods, upped my water intake, ate good Greek yogurt low in sugar, and dried prunes and apricots. Even took a 2x a day prescription stool softener. Nothing. Blamed it on the zofran and stopped that. So then I was throwing up and stopped up. Horrible pains. Finally after 5-6 days without a bm I broke down and drank prune juice. Well, 3-4 hours later I was the exact opposite and it was horrible. My stomach was in spasms and worse cramping than the constipation and now I was back to throwing up too. Being on a toilet with your head in a trash can is agony :( by the next day I was back to bloated and constipated. Another 4-5 days of no bm and being sick i switched prenatals and within 36-48 hours I was getting back on track. Now I'm taking the zofran again when necessary and no bowl issues at all! I had taken over the counter prenatals, switched to a prescription which was the devil pill and now on Kind Organics. Big horse pills I have to take three of, but I'll do it to not be constipated again! So sorry you're stopped up. Take a look at your vitamins tho if you haven't already!
  • Try pear juice xo
  • New chapter makes a "perfect prenatal vitamin" that is low in iron. Plus is has additional natural additives to help you go. I was in same boat as you until I started taking these and using liquid glycerin suppositories. ( fleet makes one and it's one of the few items that does not have a pregnancy warning). I'm sorry I really do feel your pain.
  • I found that the cilice just causes major tummy pains - but no significant help :-(. I can't stop my zofran either :-(
