How early is too early to test

My cousin convinced me to take a test 8DPO, bc for all of her glorious pregnancies that's when she tested and they were all positive, perfect, easy. Ok done being bitter. So I listened and tested today (8DPO) and BFN. So, can I get your best advice on when I should start? It's the first Time BD has actually fallen over ovulation period at all so I'm eager, desperate,anxious, etc... FF says test next Tuesday (11DPO). I think that's bc last cycle my LP was just10 days? Anyway, let me know what you all do as best practice or I'll just test 8 times a day until AF comes and that's bound to get pricey!

I always test 12 DPO if I don't have a temp drop, because I have never been able to get more than squinters at 12. There is a chart that shows accuracy rates at each DPO. I'll see if I can find it. 8 is way too early. Even avid testers usually wait till day 10.

Whoa Nellie!!! So basically today's test was $8 I could have just burned. I'm going to save this chart though. Thank you @lcwed‌ !!

I'm sorry you spent the money. If your testing early I would recommend dollar tree tests or the 88 cent Walmart tests. Then confirm with a pricier one. Good luck!

I'm a peeaholic, so I buy the bulk packs of Wondfos on Amazon and start testing on day 10, though it takes everything in me not to start at 7dpo even.  I've never gotten a bfp that early, even when actually pregnant.

Try to consider this when testing - implantation typically happens 7-10 days after ovulation, and once implantation happens it takes a few more days for HCG levels to build enough to turn a test positive. So 10 DPO is likely the very minimum to think of getting an accurate reading on a test, if not even later if implantation happens later. Peeing on things before 10 DPO is really pissing money down the drain.
