Jase is absolutely awful! I don't care for Preston, but it is much better than Jase.

I would avoid using Jase for 2 reasons:

1) It sounds like only part of a name, and that's ... weird.  I don't care how many people on TV have this name.  It's still only a partial name. 

2) There are a few ways that Jase could be pronounced.  People might mispronounce it Jah-say or Jaze.

Jason Michael and Jason Andrew are both fantastic names with the bonus that you could call him Jase 99% of the time and still give him the option to be Jason on paper if he wants it later.

Preston sounds a bit douchey to my ear, but it's the clear winner here. 

I have never ever watched that show and can't justify not choosing a name based on a TV character that I've never seen. Thanks for the input.
