I drank two cans of soda a day with my first pregnancy. This pregnancy I started our drinking a little, maybe like a can a day, but I've cut it our totally now.
You can safely drink up to 220mg/day. I drank it occasionally with my other pregnancies but I just "detoxed" over the weekend in an attempt to cut it out this time. My doctor said it's ok in moderation as long as I don't drink too much.
I attempted to go with a decaf on Friday and ended up with a 12 hour migraine that only subsided after a half cup of regular coffee. So for my sanity today I'm trying half-caff.
I'm drinking more caffeine with this babe (#2) than I did with my first, but I keep it to 1 (2 cups max) a day of coffee. My son is having major sleep issues right now, and coupling that with the first tri, I am a walking zombie.
I'm not huge on caffeine anyways, but I always have my one cup in the morning... That being said, I'm not drinking it consistently, just on days when I feel super tired... and then I only have a few sips... I think it's more of a mental thing for me. I'm thinking about giving it up completely though!
I tapered off to a cup a day while we were trying. I can't imagine withdrawals in addition to first tri symptoms. I don't drink soda, but I'm keeping my one cup a day. I tried quitting once and it messed with my asthma, so we'll just say it's for "medicinal purposes" ;-)
I stopped completely (if you don't count the occasional decaf). We had a miscarriage in June so I didn't want to take any chances, although my doctors have said anything less than 200mg/day is fine. Plus with this lovely new MS, all I can stomach is ginger ale and orange juice. I swear even my water tastes like garlic
I don't drink coffee but I am a regular soda drinker! I dont see doc till around week 11 so maybe if she said no caffeine period I would give it up. I never stopped with first pregnancy so it never crossed my mind to give it up. Maybe I should? Couldn't hurt for sure! Maybe it would help me to lose a couple pounds! Lol
When I found out I was pregnant I went cold turkey with caffeine. It was tough the first week since I drank coffee everyday AM and PM, but I've adjusted.
I never drink it anyway. Small amounts of chocolate now and then but I am so sensitive to caffeine that too much gives me the shakes and racing heart. Hence why I cant have coffee.
