We found out yesterday we will be having another little boy!! My H was ecstatic! He swears we bet something on it but either way we're already imagining all the fun our boys will be getting into! Everything was going really well with our scan until the tech focused on the brain. She mentioned that she was slightly concerned about some fluid she saw in the frontal lobe and asked that we come back in 8 weeks to see if anything had changed. She mentioned not to worry and that she looked forward to getting us some good 3D pictures at that time. I see my CNM on Monday for my 20 week appt (at 20w4d) and hope to hear some more about what that might mean. Googling turned up next to nothing. I finally found some information on wikipedia, see below, none of which was great and sounds like something to actually be concerned about. Has anyone had a scan similar to this or heard anything about this?
"It has also been discovered that lower levels of oxygen reaching the developing fetus may, in fact, decrease the amount of
grey matter produced within its brain
[17] and increase the amount of sulcal (referring to a sulcus: a fissure within the surface of the brain)
cerebrospinal fluid (CSF); importantly in the
frontal lobe and
temporal lobe, which are critical memory centers.
[18] The later point regarding sulcal CSF has been linked to
schizophrenia
(a mental disorder affecting thought processes). Grey matter is a large
component of the CNS and is related to: muscle control, sensory
perceptions, memory, emotions and speech; please follow this link for
more information regarding the different brain structures and their
effects on human function.

I know how difficult it is not to worry, but until an actual doctor expresses concern, try not to.
