TTC After a Loss

~*~*IF Check-in 10/10/14*~*~

edited October 2014 in TTC After a Loss
Hi Ladies!  I'm procrastinating writing a paper so I thought I would post our check-in!  Still looking for someone who can take this over!!  It's a small group so it really isn't that much work.

**THERE ARE BFPS AFTER THE QOTW, PLEASE SKIP IF YOU ARE HAVING A BAD DAY**

This is the weekly check-in for TTCALers who are also dealing with infertility. If you'd like to join us please feel free to intro with your diagnosis and history. We've had a few extra challenges thrown at us, ladies. Come here for snuggles from people who get what you're dealing with.

Fill us in, along with any other updates or vents you need to get out, TTCAL or NonTTCAL related.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know.  If you do not PM me I will not mention you in the check-in.  If we haven’t heard from you in a few weeks please come back in with an update; or are new and want to join please post a brief intro with your DX and current/future treatment plans and then you'll be added to next week’s check in!

AFM:  I ended up having to have an endometrial biopsy (OUCH) last week because at my baseline ultrasound I still had fluid in my uterus.  The results came back negative for anything serious.  My doctor’s take on everything is that we’ve ruled out anything serious that it could be (polyps, cancer, infection, inflammation…) so we’re going to go ahead with my 10/30 FET and pray that the fluid doesn’t hurt my chances.  I decided to take 3 weeks of doxy before the transfer just in case there is an inflammation hiding in my uterus the antibiotic would take care of it.  I stopped BCPs on Wednesday, lupron started last week and IM DelEstrogen shots start this weekend.  My doctorate is still totally kicking my ass so at least I’m focusing more on that then my anxiety about the FET.

QOTW:  I am an expert hula hooper and I cannot whistle.  I am also a reality TV freak, only DH really knows the extent to my addiction.

  • Thanks for the check-in @Frenchteachermama‌. Boo for the endometrial biopsy, but I'm glad that it was nothing serious. I honestly don't think I'll ever do another biopsy, I hated it that much.
Good luck with the doctorate stuff!

AFM: we had 4th IUI on Tuesday, first with letrozole. I had 1 follie at 24mm. I'm kind of wondering why I'm not feeling side effects from trigger shot. I usually always get super sore boobs

Id be willing to take over the check in if this cycle is a bust

    @beckynsean11‌ and @MBJune‌ , congrats!!

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)
All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal

  • @Frenchteachermama‌ ((((hugs)))) and fx that the fluid either disappears or is a nonissue for your FET.

    AFM:
7dp5dt and nothing but BFNs on HPTs. This cycle is a bust, although I still have to shoot myself in the ass with pio just on the off chance my little embryo is just slow. I won't be holding my breath as I have been down this road before.

I'm pretty done with this whole process. Of course my DH still wants to try......and is insisting that we wait to see what my re says at our WTF appt. Meanwhile, it seems like EVERYONE in the world is pregnant but me (especially IRL) so I'm going to go hide under a rock of bitterness.

O2girl   Lots of hugs and FX for you.

I'm in a bad place today.  I don't know what happened.  I'm weepy and mad at the universe and my uterus.   I think it's because I'm in limbo.  My beta on Wednesday was 5 so I'm almost down to 0.  I just want to get AF and move on.   We are thinking about changing RE's since ours is 2 hours away.  With my new insurance we can now go to one 1 hour away, which we do our monitoring appointments with.

The plan is to try on our own until January then possibly do 1 or 2 IUI's, then our second IVF attempt around April.  I'm not too hopeful about IUI's since we've had 3 failed ones before our IVF cycle.  It'll be nice to just try on our own for a few months, but I just don't think it's going to happen for us that way.

  • Thanks for the check-in @Frenchteachermomma, sorry to hear about all that, but I'm glad it seems like you should be fine for the FET and that you have plenty of distraction along the way.

@Rachaeleigh FX for this being your cycle!

Oh @O2girl I am so sorry this cycle seems like a bust. I will keep you in my thoughts and hopefully you get a late implanter.

    @26summer hugs to you

AFM: Sorry I've been MIA the last few weeks ladies, but I needed the break. After our last failed IUI we had thought we would start an injectable cycle but learned at the baseline appointment that my ovaries were too active to move forward and were put on bc instead. This really rocked me to the core and I was in a deep, dark place. Thankfully at my baseline appointment earlier this week we were cleared to proceed forward with the injectables. I am now on day 3 of Gonal-F injections and my first monitor appointment is Monday. We are so very hopeful and so is our RE, so I'm doing my best to stay positive.

  • @Frenchteachermama- Thanks for running the check in. I am glad doctor didn't find anything serious.
@Racheleigh- I hope this is your month.  Sometimes I get symptoms with my trigger shot and other times I don't.  This time I didn't.
@O2girl- Sorry this cycle seems like a bust. It's very hard dealing with IF and a loss when others around you are pregnant. It makes me want to stay away from Facebook.  (((Hugs)))
@26summer- I hope AF shows up soon.  It's always hard waiting for AF after a loss.  (((Hugs)))
@Feegan-I hope you feel better after a break. I'm glad you were able to move on to injectable.

AFM- I am in my first TWW after my second loss and it's driving me crazy. I know I am out this cycle, so I am ready to move on.
  • Hi, ladies! Can I come back to the check in? IF DX is in my siggy, but those mobile, I have PCOS and stage 2 endo. H is perfectly fine, which I am happy/jealous about. We have have two Clomid cycles end in bfns. We are on our third Clomid/trigger/TI cycle. I am afraid if this cycle is a bust we will have to move to IUI. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I just lost my job and got offered another one at a $5,000/year pay cut. It is going to be hard to swing IUI with our finances so stretched. I am feeling a lot overwhelmed and pressure for my body to cooperate just this once. If we move to IUI, that means we have to travel 3 hours to get it. Not a bad thing per se, just one more thing on a long list of things against us. Sorry for the Debby Downer post, but I can't seem to muster up happy-go-lucky thoughts. ((Hugs)) ladies, I will come back and respond to everyone.

  • Ladies, I'm sorry I can't respond to individual posts. I pretty much only bump Mobile and its a pain. I actually have a question today that I'm hoping someone can answer. I got my first post d&c/surgery period today. Yay! But, in the past I believe I always called my RE when I got my period to begin monitoring and start injections. Do I need to worry about this since it is Saturday of a 3 day weekend? Do I call today or is waiting until Tuesday ok? Y'all have been so helpful and supportive and I truly appreciate it.
  • @26summer‌ I've had a similar week of feeling all the negative feelings. I'm blaming the crazy full moon! (((Hugs))) to you and I had you begin to feel better. Yay for having a plan in place. I don't know about you but having a plan has usually brought comfort to me. Xo.
  • @candST2014 I'm glad you got your period, I'm sure that's a good feeling.   I'd call today.   They may want you to come in on Monday (even though it's a holiday) most RE's offices will still be open for monitoring.  Are you doing an IUI cycle with injections or IVF?  And yes, having a plan in place always makes me feel better, but I don't think the negativity will go away until I get my first post D&C period.
  • I'm doing IUI with injections. I'll call today. Thank you!

@megrae12  ((hugs)) Welcome. FX this is your cycle.

AFM :  I am in my 2ww and trying to keep busy. I got a letter from my insurance and they will continue to pay for my letrozole. So next cycle will be letrozole/trigger/TI.

QOTW : I graduated from high school at the age of 15 and had my masters degree at 21.

  • Ladies,
I'm sorry I can't respond to individual posts.

I always call and leave a message for the nurse on call. They can decide if they want you in Mon or Tue. Better safe than sorry in my book!

  • Hi ladies, can I join you here? As some of you know I'm starting my first IVF cycle.

For those mobile, a little bit about me- I'm 34. We started ttc December of 2012. I had 2 mcs in 2013 fairly close together. The 2nd was after we saw a hb. We went to an RE for RPL testing and all was normal. The RE recommended we try on our own longer before moving to something else. After 7 more months of trying we decided over the summer to try IUI. (Bc I wasn't ready for IVF yet) We did 2 and both failed.

So here I am. IVF with PGD to hopefully also reduce chance of mc. A year past my 2nd loss date this is where I find myself.

I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff yet but I have lots of hugs and support to offer.

    PgAL welcome
