Intro and Hurting to Poop?

Hi! During the first 7 months of my pregnancy I could not eat anything with yeast as I would bloat up and feel dreadful if I did. My lo is 5 weeks old now and often struggles to poop. There are times she has no problem and other times she cries each time gas/poop comes through...and once it starts it takes 15 minutes or so to pass. So 2 questions:
1. Is it normal for babies to cry when trying to poop?
2. How long does it take for food to digest before it goes into breast milk? I want to try to pinpoint if it is a yeast problem or a common dairy problem.

Bf babies should poop easily. If she's not, I'd talk with her pedi about it. They may ask you try an elimination diet to pinpoint what's bothering her. I'm not sure how long it takes before something you ate shows up in bm.
