My friend is going to loan me a Mamaroo swing. I always thought they looked really cool but the question is, does your baby like it? My son didnt love his swing and my newborn doesn't really like that swing either so wanted to change it up. Didn't know if these things were anything miraculous or if they are similar to all the other equipment out there.
My DD hated the Mamaroo for the first 5 weeks but then she started to like it, she really only likes the Kangaroo motion because DH and I usually bounce her up and down. If your LO doesn't like it at first, keep trying.. we almost returned it but so glad we kept it!

ok thanks. I feel like they like things at different stages also.
They had one in the NICU and a lot of fussy newborns were calmed by it. We never tried it because other babies needed it more and my son was a pretty good sleeper if he was fed. My daughter loved her vibrating chair from birth until she didn't fit in it anymore, but my son hates it. You never know what will work. Borrowing is a great option.
My son is now 2 weeks old, and we would not have survived these first weeks without the Mama Roo! Other than carrying him in my Moby Wrap, or a genuine car ride, the Mama Roo is one of the only things that soothes him when he's fussy. We put him in there, usually on car mode or tree swing and use the 'white noise' sound. He instantly falls asleep! It is magic!
