When is/was your first OB appt?

I called this morning and they said they normally have ppl come in between 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 weeks but offered for me to come in earlier given that this is IVF. They offered an appt that would be 6w1d. I'm wondering if that is too soon to hear a heart beat and whether I should push it out a week? I would hate to go, not hear a heart beat and then be worried for a week. What has been your experiences?

Are you not seeing your RE for the first few weeks still?  I think most of us move on to the OB once the RE releases us, and that tends to be around 7-10 weeks?  I went to my RE until he released me at 8 weeks, then my OB appointment was at 10 weeks.

6 weeks is right at the start of when you would hear a HB, but there are ladies who don't hear it until closer to 7 weeks.  For me it would depend on how patient I could be.  If you can hold out and would want to go to an appointment where you feel confident about hearing a HB, maybe push it back a week?  But there's nothing wrong with checking to see how it's looking and then going back the next week.

@gsancho‌ I thought that tomorrow was/is going to be my last RE appt. I could be totally wrong but they made it seem that way. I will ask tomorrow.

I stayed with my RE until 9 weeks. We did heartbeat check at 6 weeks, then again at 8 or 9, then my first OB appointment at 11.

I have an appt with my RE every week until week 8 and I see my OB at the very end of week 9. My RE told me last week to schedule my appt when I was 5 weeks.

I won't be seeing my OB for the first time until 11.5 weeks.  My last RE appointment was at 6w4d.  They apparently are extra cruel to me.   My RE did tell me that if something came up between now and my OB appointment, he would definitely see me, but everything was good, so there wasn't any more he could really do for me.

I had an US with my RE at 6 weeks and saw a heart beat, so she released me to my OB who I saw at 8 weeks and every other week throughout 1st tri.  If I hadn't seen the heart beat at 6 weeks I would've gone back to my RE in another week.  You may not see a heart beat at 6 weeks yet, but it will confirm that there's a sac, fetal pole, etc and all in the right place, which are all good things!

My RE is going out of town now, then I will be out of town when she gets back, so my final appt with her is Oct 28- I will be 10 weeks. After that I will call the OB & I would assume I will get in pretty quickly.

My last RE appointment was 7 weeks and my first OB appointment was at 8 weeks. My RE nurse asked me to make a appointment with my OB as soon as as I could b/c she hates when patients are feeling like they're in "limbo" during such a crucial time during the pregnancy. She wanted me to to immediatley have a "new" doctor so I had someone to direct any questions to and not feel like I didnt' belong to either doctor! GOod luck to you!

I didn't get released by my RE until around 9w due to bleeding (well, I got released at 8w, but had a bleed the day after I was released and my RE let me come in 2 more times after).  My OB wasn't going to see me until 12w, but my RE called and told her that she should see me earlier (10w) since I had some complications.

So my IVF Team basically released me this week at 7 weeks 

and when I called my OB to schedule that were a little taken aback that they released me so soon? I was surprised b/c they refer to each other often so I'm not sure if that time frame was unique.

and the OB scheduled my first appt at 9 weeks. 

of course, my RE said to call or make an appt if anything changes and I am still on meds until November.

I had my first OB appt at 10 weeks, I had just graduated from my RE the previous week.  The OB had an appt open and suggested coming in around 8 weeks, but I didn't see the need for 2 appointments in a week, so I waited until I graduated.

We saw the HB around 6 weeks, then at our OB appt they found it, just barely with a doppler, so we got to hear it for just a few seconds.

I'd wait until 7w to be safe.. my RE released me at 8w & I saw my OB at 10w.

I had my us appt this morning and it turns out I will be with my RE for 8 - 9 weeks.
