Hecklet's Birth Story

Graham Keith made his appearance this morning (10/8/14) at 39 weeks 1 day at 6:00am on the dot (guess he's punctual!) 6lbs 14oz 18.5 inches.
I had been dilating since week 36-3cm then and up to 5Cm by 38 weeks. I had a scary fast labor (fTM here).
Dull period like cramps/ contractions started around 11 pm Tuesday night and went on until 1:45am when I had to get out of bed due to the intensity of a contraction. Contractions came on strong and quick and I called the doula to have her come over. We labored at home with her from 3-4:45 am and headed to the hospital. I went through transition at home pretty sure so it was tricky to decide a good time to leave.
The hospital is only 4 miles from our house which is good because the ride there was hell.
Yes, I was that lady that fell to my knees at the doors of the ER in the midst of a contraction and was quickly wheeled up to labor and delivery bypassing security and triage. My water broke as I was asked to move from the wheelchair to the bed. As soon as the monitor was placed on me it was time to push.
Graham made his appearance about 40 minutes later, I had two small tears to stitch up.
Thank goodness I planned to go natural because I really don't think there would have been time for anything else( they weren't even able to place a hep lock) we have just been enjoying our little man and trying to rest up. He's been a Bfing champ!
And of course- a picture
