Bcp question

I was put on birth control for 4 weeks so I wouldn't start a period before my laparoscopy next week. I know from my history, that they suppress my ovaries too much to be used during an ivf cycle. My question is, how long do they suppress the ovaries for? Can I jump right into an ivf or IUI after my lap or will there be lasting effects? Do they even let you do an IUI or ivf right after a lap or do you have to wait? I'm in a hurry all of a sudden because I cannot take this damn dhea any longer. I've been on it for just over 3 months and my entire face, back and chest is a cystic acne mess and it makes me feel awful:-(. TIA!

IVF#3(4/13) Natural start antagon protocol, 12R,11F. one PGS normal at day 6 transfer. BFN.
IVF#4 (11/13) C.CRM (ODW.U normal 8/13 Still no Diagnosis) EPP/antagonist. ER 13R/7M/6F. Only 1 made it to freeze. Abnormal. Looking into options of DE, Fresh vs frozen.
10/14 new local RE to look into what's next. CD3 FSH 4.7, AMH 0.9. Met with DE agencies and exploring options for feb/march 2015.
Surprise natural bfp (4 days before donor is signed). Beta #1 at 9dpo: 51.8, 2nd beta: 195 (25 hours doubling) @11dpo. 3rd beta (12/15): 516 (35 hrs doubling) 4th beta(12/17): 895 (58 hours doubling) 5th beta(12/19): 2120. U/S at 5w0d(12/22): one gestational sac with yolk sac. U/S #2 (6w0d)12/29. One little bean measuring 6w0d with HR 124. 3rd u/s(1/4)7w0d: baby measuring 7w2d. HR 134. 3/30: A/S at MFM went great except for low lying placenta. Verifi results are normal! Team Blue! Please send any positive thoughts our way! EDD:8/24/2015

    Oh, no:-( I wasn't aware of this. I REALLY don't know now if I even want to do it. Seems like a waste of energy, time, and money to do...and I'm scared:-(

    Hi J&D, I'm sorry I can't help with your question. I was just surprised to see that you were going through with lap after the last post about DH wanting you to quit this RE. I TOTALLY feel you about the lap. Without hard evidence of necessity, I was determined to not do it. Thankfully, I never had to. It's certainly a double edged sword: you can trust your body and mind that are telling you not to do it, or there's always that super minimal chance out there that a lap could finally answer why you're not having success. You're in a pickle. I wish there was an easy way for you. Sending you virtual hugs for these difficult decisions!

    BFP! Out of nowhere, I got KU the old fashioned way! POAS 1/26/14 - Positive! FDLM 12/30/13. Beta #1 16dpo= 373. Beta #2 18dpo= 801. EDD 10/6/14
    2/4/14 1st U/S revealed a 5wk2day sac but no fetal pole. Started 200mgs of progesterone suppositories daily
    2/11/14 2nd U/S revealed a perfect 6wk1day "diamond ring" embryo with a beating heart! 138bpm! Add 1mg folic acid and 40mg Lovenox
    2/25/14 3rd U/S: perfect 8w1d embryo, 178bpm. 3/6 start spotting. 3/11 10w1d U/S shows no heartbeat. Scheduling D&C. The Stork has forsaken me again.
    IVF #5.2: New in-state RE. Supplement priming for 1.5 cycles prior to start of cycle, including DHEA 50mg (stopped 5/15), CoQ10 200mg 2x/day, L-Arginine- 1000mg 2x/day (stopped 6/5 due to cold sore!), myo-inositol- 2g 2x/day, melatonin- 3mg, and Neevo (prenatal for MTHFR).

    7/8/14 Beta= 137.4 BFP!!! (My first from IVF!) E2- 1109, Prog- >60. Stop CoQ10, myo-inositol, and melatonin. 7/9 2nd Beta= 281.4. TSH- 2.70. Increasing Synthroid to 100mcg daily. 7/24 6w3d u/s measured 6w3d, hb: 121bmp! 8/5 8w1d u/s measured 8w3d, hb: 164bpm! Graduated from RE to OB. Now I just need to find an OB!

    Hey chuckt, thanks for chiming in and I'm glad you're doing well. DH has never met the RE (and I've only met him once), but he dislikes the hospital they use as they are supposedly going under and he wonders about the quality of care. And I totally agree with you in that following my body and mind and not going through with it, I feel like I'd be making that decision based on fear and I don't want to do that. I'm going based on the fact that 3 docs have suggested this route as a last resort and I really don't know what else to do! I am just so stuck here and I have to do SOMETHING before I lose my sanity.

    I had to wait at least two months after my lap to cycle and ended up waiting about four months.  That was back in 2010.  I had some endo removed and the post lap bleeding lasted for a while.  My problem with BCPs is that they cause me to have cysts and the cysts produce estrogen which over suppresses me.  Once the cysts are dealt with, my body gets back to normal pretty quickly.  But, dealing with cysts either means triggering to see if it is released or having it aspirated as going back on BCPs just creates new cysts for me.

    ~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~ 

    Me= 37 and DH = 41 

    Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)

    IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN

    IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.

    IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!

    TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

    IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN

    I'm sorry you're having a hard time with the DHEA & I hope those symptoms ease up on you!!

    I did my lap in August 2013, and I was able to do an IUI cycle with my next period. I overstimmed, and was downgraded to TI. Then we moved onto IVF #1. The timeline was really quick when I look back on it, though at the time it just felt like a slow, agonizing drag.

    Dx: Poor Embryo Quality, Arcuate Uterus, Poor Uterine Blood Flow, Mild Endo, 
           Protein S Deficiency, Sjorgen's Syndrome 

    IUI #1-5: BFN
    Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy: minimal endo, partial septoplasty
    IVF #1: 10R/6M/6F ~ Day 3 ET = BFN
    IVF #2: 14R/9M/5F ~ transfer canceled ~ all embryos arrested at 1-2 cell stage
    IVF #3: 9R/5M/5F ~ 1 frosty!
    IVF #4 (FET #1): BFN

    IVF #5 (DE IVF #1 with Dr. KK protocol): Currently PREGNANT!!!!!!
    Synthroid + Prednisone + Metformin + Baby Aspirin + Supplements Galore = 15+ pills a day
    Lupron + Lovenox + Delestrogen + IVIG + B/W = 2-5 pokes a day
    19R, 17M, 17F - transferred two Grade A blasts 11/16, four frosties!!!
