Stroller recommendations?

I'm starting to look at strollers to add to my registry
I definitely don't want to have 3 different strollers looking for something versatile
I see that this uppa baby vista is a popular one but not sure that i wanna spend over $700 ! Yikes!
Maclaren strollers have high ratings

any other recommendations ?

Re: Stroller recommendations?

  • Uppa baby vista is the best but so expensive 3 in 1 is about 1009$ I was looking for this one but I'm not sure yet.

  • We went with the Baby Jogger City Select (not a jogging stroller, just the brand name). We loved it because it's like the Uppababy but a little less expensive, plus it converts to a double really easily if we have another kid in the next few years. It drives like a dream and I got the 2013 model on sale for $305 instead of the original price tag of $499!

  • I guess it depends a lot on your budget and how much you plan to use the stroller. We can afford a $1K stroller but that seems crazy expensive to me. We are planning to spend less than $200 on a jogging stroller, and hoping to find one used. Used kids stuff is so easy to find. With our lifestyle we will only be using the stroller for walks around our neighborhood and DH for his 5 mile runs a few days a week. We are each getting carriers/wraps for the other times and I hate the idea of lugging around a big stroller everywhere. Strollers really aren't essentials for most people and I know a lot of people who barely used them - hence, why you can get such awesome deals on barely used strollers on Craigslist or kids consignment stores.

  • I got the snap and go for now, I got super cheap at a consignment sale. We will invest in a Jeep Vue when our DD is ready to get out of the infant seat.

  • We've tested quite a few and I've used some different ones as a nanny.  We have limited space and so we only wanted one stroller.  We're going with the City Mini GT because we are very outdoorsy and take lots of long walks on uneven terrain, and I think it will also work well for shopping and running errands.  It's not tiny, but it folds small enough to store in our entryway.  Also, no need to pump up tires.  There are some drawbacks (small storage space, aren't supposed to hang the diaper bag off the handle, no parent facing) but it will work for a newborn without a car seat and the handle is adjustable - it seemed to fit our needs the best.  The B-Ready and the City Select were close runners up.

If space wasn't a concern I'd love a BOB (oh, man, does that thing push nice even with heavy kids in it!)  but maybe we'll get one down the road and sell the Mini GT if our needs change.  We are also considering a snap and go to store in the trunk, esp. if we can find it used.
  • Thank you so much for all your recommendations!

  • The Uppababy Cruz is much cheaper than the Vista, and I actually like it better.  They are coming out with new colors for 2015, so the 2014 version has had a price drop on Amazon.  Last I saw it was under $400.

  • We registered for a Chicco travel system and a lightweight Zobo stroller as well. The travel system ran about $300 and the lightweight was about $100

  • We also have the city select 2 seats and the glider....I Would NOT trade it for anything! Completely worth the money all of mine together was about $800, but my friend just sold hers used to someone for $600. You will not regret it!
  • For a single? Baby Jogger City Mini. But for the first 6 months or so Id buy a Snap n Go frame for your infant car seat.
