Stopped fora tea latte on my way into work after a heart wrenching dc drop off. Mh happened to be driving by and see me. Can't do anything without being spotted in a small town!!
Good morning/afternoon all while thankful wakeups usually only last a few min...they seem to be growing in number. Then DHs dog decided he wanted to play at 7:30 and proceeded to squeak for an hour. Which kept me up and woke jadzia up. I was half asleep apparently when i failed to notice how soggy her diaper was before plopping her in bed with me...which resulted in getting peed on. I also didnt noticed that until I went to stop her from climbing over me.
I signed up for Blue Apron and got my first shipment yesterday. I think the food is going to be tasty but the portions just seem so small. Not too small for me, but I know my SO will still be hungry. I think it's a neat idea and I love how they send you EVERYTHING you need... but just a warning to anyone who's considering it, the portions are small. Like, they sent me one potato to make french fries for two people.
Ok, so WWJ13D: Monday morning I sent my boss an email letting him know I would be 0.5-1hr late because "We took our little guy to the ER yesterday and I want to take a little extra time this morning to make sure he is ok before I leave him with my husband."
Boss responds via email: "OK"
I'm thinking "A little cold, but whatever. He's a dude."
When I get into work I had to stop by his desk to ask him a few questions, and he never asked how DS was doing. Not a peep.
Am I overreacting by thinking that is a bit cold? Or am I expecting too much? It's Wed and I just can't let it go.

That cold, even for a guy who may not have kids. I would be hurt. You have j13, we care
He has two kids. Youngest started college this year. I ask him all the time how she is doing.

Some people are just less comfortable with personal stuff at the office and may not be big on asking you details, wishing you well etc. Some people are super private--he may assume that because HE doesnt want to talk about taking his kid to the ER at work, that you wouldn't either. Does that make sense?
ETA: he might also have/have had before employees who have to tell him why they're out and then don't react well when he brings it up. He might be trying to avoid violating your privacy or something.
Idk I'm just hoping he's not a jerk. It's possible he is but maybe not
Good point. I guess I just can't imagine not throwing in a "Hope he's ok" or something (keep it short and sweet), but I am a girl.
In February, I mentioned that my H was sick in the hospital. My boss asked me no questions. She never asks questions when I ask to leave early for appts for him. She never asks anything about my H or my kid. That's just how she is. I wouldn't read too much into it.
I'm having a terrible day at work. Things escalated from the stupid thing that happened yesterday and even though I wasn't really involved at all, I got dragged into it, along with the program I manage. Soooo, yea. Awesome day
My oldest friend (as in, I've been friends with her longer than anyone else) is due with her second baby on Sunday. Today is also her birthday.
I just stalked her FB page. Neither she nor her husband have any activity today, and she has not liked any of the happy birthday comments. I am reading way too much into this, but I'm hoping that means she's working on delivering a brand new birthday present squish!

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
I am so tired. I need to have 3 cups of coffee, finish a paper thats due today, and put together a presentation that is on revision #4 because of ONE FREAKING PERSON, did I ever tell you guys how much I despise group work?
Something might be breaking our way. Someone from our short gut group has offered to give us some Pediasure Peptide because they're no longer using it, and ----------- our insurance decided they might cover it after all! So we will have enough to get us through until we know for sure, and then it might actually really for real be covered.

Ugh just got my income based student loan payments.... Yep can't pay that amount either..... Don't know what I'm going to do. Selling organs on the black market isn't sounding too bad right now.

I am currently hiding on my bed trying to pull myself together and banish my bad mood so I can enjoy the nice-ish weather with my kids.

@gustymama Nothing, nothing at all.
I am so glad that today's work day has gone by quickly with no major crisis! A huge win!
