pgh ladies I have a question!

have any of you been to magee wi insurance other than upmc?

The reason I ask is because I current have upmc insurance and am going to magee .. I just got a job that I believe has high mark but they are currently "shopping around" and possibly switching. I really like my RE and don't want to switch plus all our testing is done it would be strictly treatment which upmc doesn't cover anyway.

All advice would be great!!

Yep, I went to magee for a 2nd opinion with Highmark

I got excited when I saw pgh! : ) I had an appointment with Magee scheduled, but ended up canceling when I found my RE in wexford. Anyway, I was told that my highmark insurance would be accepted.

Not sure if my answer will be helpful but I'm gonna answer anyway lol. I'm from Erie and there isn't an RE up here. However, there is a RE by the name of Ronert Collins that comes up to Erie twice a month. His main practice is in Hermitage, PA (so kind of in the middle of Erie and Pgh. The name of his practice is Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon (Center for Fertility & Reproductive Endocrinology- North). It's a UPMC branch. I have Highmark BC/BS insurance and it's accepted there

@alaskadee23 Lol true, but I finally figured out from context that it's Pittsburgh?

Chiming in here off-topic (sorry @razzyrn) to ask about planning a senior trip to Pittsburgh. The girls felt the Chicago, Boston, and Philly trips we priced out were too expensive. The agent said Pittsburgh would be an affordable  price but we weren't sure if there was a ton to do there in February. Are there some really great must-sees? Thank you!

@rachaeleigh What is GTG? Does that mean going to go? Yes, last year we had to reroute when we were blizzarded out of Boston. They really don't give me much to work with. -_-

@rachaeleigh Oh, Lol!! I wish, that was my first thought when you guys brought that up. Not sure if leave chaperoning duties during the weekend...but I will ask. Honestly I could drive there and back in a day and am seriously considering crashing your GTG...but DH would probably take the gas money out of my IUI fund!!

@razzyrn I was lurking around these parts and just wanted to fill ya in on the UPMC/Higmark saga.  I went to UPMC (Dr. Collins) with Highmark insurance.  However, I'm pretty sure by December, UPMC drs. will no longer accept Highmark insurance.  I hear the commercials all the time on the radio, and my best friend is a UPMC nursing coordinator and she said it is looking to be that way by December.  Hope this helps!

AAAAND also...when it came to IUI's...I switched to the Jones Institute.  I did it for billing purposes (they bill insurance seperately instead of a lump sum and it ended up being loads cheaper for whatever I had to pay OOP).  However, after I switched I realized I LOVED the Jones Institute far more than Dr. Collins and UPMC.  Good luck!!
