Next week will be my last week in 2nd Trimester (WHAT?!!! Seriously, this snuck up on me) so I will need a volunteer to take over this thread.  You can start next Tuesday, or the following one.  Regardless, next week will be my last week participating before moving on up to 3rd Trimester.

This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd Tri after 27 weeks.

I did have a friend with a breech baby and a scheduled c-section (just as placenta previa would be) and she actually thought it was a bit of a relief to know exactly when it was all going to happen, and her recovery was very easy. So there's an upside to try to counter the disappointment that something is "wrong" - it's easily managed, and you know when to expect your baby!

Hey ladies!! 

I really hope all is going well in your pregnancies, and that they all seem to be going by as fast as mine does. 

Currently 22 weeks, and we had our fetal echo yesterday. Everything looks great and Dolce is growing so fast. He is measuring about a week ahead at 1lb 5oz. This little guy is so very active, I keep telling my husband that a little version of Michael Jackson is in my belly because I swear he is moon walking over all my organs. 

QOTW: No plans for Halloween this year. I think we are both just really consumed with getting the house ready for the baby that we havent even thought about it.

I have my glucose screening on Thursday, along with my check-up.  This one was only 3 weeks since my last appointment, and my next one will be 3 weeks from this Thursday, and then we start 2 weeks.  Yikes! 

Realizing that I'm THISCLOSE to third trimester today really shocked me - I have no idea where time is going, I feel like it's just disappearing.  I know I've said that before, but it really is unnerving to some extent how quickly it's all going by.  I've enjoyed being pregnant, I'm nervous about labor & delivery, I'm so excited and anxious to meet our little guy, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by all we still want to get done before he arrives.

Ryan's an active little ninja - sometimes it's even a bit uncomfortable now that he's bigger and stronger, it feels like he's trying to break out.  The coolest thing is watching my naked belly where I can physically see him kicking and rolling around through the skin.  Creepy, but SO COOL!

QOTW: We're visiting family the weekend of Halloween (my MIL is throwing us a shower on Nov 2) and DH and I are both so excited to see our 3 year old niece and 1 year old nephew in their costumes! 

DH really wants to go trick-or-treating with our niece, but I keep reminding him that it's what BIL and SIL and niece want, so he should be prepared to go with the flow and not intrude if it's something they want to do as a family. 

That said, we have to figure out some cute easy costumes that we can easily take with us on the plane and will hold up to some potentially cold weather.

@southernyankeegirl No problem!  Congrats on moving to third tri yourself.  I am 26 weeks and 5 days, so going on 27 weeks this Thursday!  I'm getting super excited about my upcoming showers!  We just got our britax stroller and car seat from my mother-in-law this past weekend.  So grateful for all the support

Happy Tuesday, ladies! Time is sure flying! I'll be 24 weeks on Friday. It definitely feels good to be almost to the v-day milestone. Baby girl is super active and I just love it. I have my glucose screening next week, but otherwise nothing new to report. I realized I probably won't see her again until she arrives, unless we do a 3D/4D ultrasound. It just feels surreal to be four months away from my due date.

Hi everyone! @southernyankeegirl‌ - Obviously I think it's important for everyone to know how to do infant CPR and how to deal with choking, but whether you need a class for that is a different story. I felt like the instructor wasted a lot of time and we could have skipped right to the important parts. I also went to a breastfeeding class and that one was much better, in this case because the instructor was awesome. It was great to have a chance to talk to a professional about my questions and concerns. Next up for us is the childbirth class. I'm looking forward to this because I'm still really excited about labor and birth. I'm sure I'll get more nervous later on, but right now I'm just excited!

Overall, things are going well for me! This little guy is moving and growing so much. It's starting to get uncomfortable and sometimes really painful, but it's so reassuring to feel him moving that I don't really care. I can't believe I'm almost to third trimester too - it's crazy how quickly time seems to be passing by. I'll be so happy when I get there. I'm also looking forward to getting the Rhogam and glucose test out of the way over the next two weeks.

QOTW: No plans for us. I actually don't really care for Halloween. We'll just be home giving out candy. I do have costumes for my dogs though. They'll be dressing up as crayons - red and green!

I finally broke the news in my office....the girls were all thrilled. My partner....less than enthusiastic. It's fine, though..there has been a lot of strain there for the last few months and this just added insult to injury. What can I tell you? I'm not sweating it :-)
Little critter is finally letting himself be felt on the regular and it makes me smile every time! Just had an ultrasound today and it looks like my low-lying placenta has cooperated and moved away from the exit, so I'm excited. Just signed up for hypnobirthing classes that start in two weeks and I can't wait! 21 weeks and 3 weeks from V-day! Have added some registry items, but really need to get my butt into a store to look at strollers and car seats. I have two close friends that have had boys within the last year and aren't planning any more, so they have both decided to unload every pregnancy-related item they still own in my direction. I am sooooooo grateful!
QOTW: on call for Halloween, so just planning on handing out candy. My niece has been looking at baby costumes for next year. Maybe I'll get myself organized enough to carve a pumpkin. I'm usually the first one on the block with a decorated house, etc, but I have so much going on this year that I just don't see it happening

Hi girls!!! I'm wanting an organic mattress, bc of the fumes I've read about that traditional mattresses give off. I've gotten a little over protective in the last 2 years about products I use (body, cleaning, etc). I never knew how much traditional cleaners/beauty and body products, etc really can cause harm to our endocrine systems. Having thyroid disease, I am always looking at what I'm using. As for Halloween costumes, I won't be wearing one, but I did order a iron on pumpkin face for a black t shirt I will wear to hand out candy. It's little rhinestones in the shape of a pumpkin face!

I had to call my OB today since I'm still sick, so instead of weaning off the Zofran I have to take it the max 3/times a day most likely until my a/s in 2 weeks, so hopefully that will do the trick.

QOTD: No Halloween costumes or celebrations here. I am pretty excited to hand out handy because our house has been under construction since we've bought it 2 years ago, and this is the first year we have a light outside and our house doesn't look like a haunted house inside. I'm curious to see how many little trick 'o treaters we will have/playdate potential.

Guess this is my first check in. I had my A/S appt yesterday at 20 wks. Everything looked good and we are having a girl!! Funny because I had boy bedding picked out. She was moving all around and kicking me but I couldn't feel her. What's up with that? Lol. It was so amazing to see her

QOTW: MH hates dressing up so he is over the moon when our friends decided to turn their Halloween parties into a Fall gathering. Me on the other hand loved to get dressed up. Can't wait until next yr.

Handing out candy that night then hopefully off to do some two stepping and line dancing. It's been so long since I've been out!! Blame that on ms.

We have no children or pets to dress up. It is unlikely we will dress up at all. Kids don't trick or treat in our rural-ish neighborhood, so we will be super boring and stay in. I'm sure next year I'll dress the baby up as some kind of fluffy animal.

Hi ladies. Sorry I missed last week. We were in disney for the first part of the week and I have been trying to catch up at work. Currently 16 weeks. I am appointment free until next week.
We should be emptying the nursery soon so that my FIL can start the wood floors at the end of the month. Getting pretty excited about that- although we are still undecided on straight nautical or sea themed with cutesy pirates.
I'm putting our announcement photo that we took in disney.

QOTW: We went to the Halloween party at disney and dressed up pretty low key wearing some batman and robin t- shirts with capes attached. I'll probably wear the shirt to hand out candy. I did see the most awesome costume in Pinterest. A knit hat that is a cabbage patch wig and you put a box over the stroller so your baby looks like it's inside the box. It's so cute.

Waiting for an appointment with a new physical therapist. My other is "no longer with" my office. That's fine. I didn't think she was doing a good job anyway. I'm now fighting tendinitis in both of my feet from her new insoles. Other than that I'm doing ok. Work is busy busy busy so I'm not doing too much besides working and sleeping.
We are going as a stepford wife and a mailman. I got a real shirt from DH from my mailman at work. Can't wait to dress up!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been ghost last couple of weeks, so much going on and can't believe how fast time is flying! This thursday I will be 21 weeks along, had a great anatomy scan last week. Baby boy was just shy of 1 pound and measuring 1 weeks ahead!! My next prenatal appointment is this Thursday. We also have our c-section scheduled (due to a previous abdominal surgery), it's the end of Jan at 37 weeks, so we will meet our precious baby boy in just about 16 weeks, yikes!!

We started on the nursery and the invitations have been sent out for our baby shower early next month. I'm really enjoying this phase of the pregnancy, aches and growing pains and all:-)

Nothing much to report here. 21 weeks today. Little one was moving up a storm this past weekend, but not so much the past couple of days. DH has felt the baby kicking too! He loves it
Next appt is a week from Thursday. I agree the previa isn't too bad, and there's still lots of time for things to change. I'm really ok with a c section or whatever route is needed, should it be necessary.
I can't believe so many ladies are moving onto 3rd tri! I know what you mean @southernyankeegirl‌ the weeks seem to be buzzing on by. It's crazy.

Almost forgot QOTW: we are doing the skeleton t shirts. Mine has a baby skeleton in the belly doing a ninja kick and DH's has a slice of pizza, a burger and a beer in his skeleton belly

I'll be 16 weeks on Thursday, 2 weeks until anatomy scan and then on the 24th we are having our parents and siblings over to open a box of balloons to find out the sex. I know these parties are frowned upon on BMB but after dealing with IF we want to celebrate every milestone and thankfully we have amazing family who are equally excited. Hi everyone! 20 weeks here, and YES @southernyankeegirl (congrats on 3rd tri!!!), there is definitely movement going on. My husband hasn't been able to feel it from the outside since the little one is most active when I'm at my desk.

Slightly scary moment yesterday- I was stuck away from my desk, and didn't have my second breakfast, so I went over 3 hours without eating. I started getting cold sweats and the world got a little gray.I freaked out and ran a coworker's desk and had some juice. Felt immediately better. Lesson learned: baby's gotta eat!

QOTW: no Halloween this year, we live in a rural area and don't get trick or treaters. Next year, this baby is going to be adorably dressed up though... we'll find somewhere to take him/her!!

Loving reading everyone's updates!  

AFM, I am 21w tomorrow and as a few others already mentioned, I cannot understand how that is even possible!  Babies are moving a lot more these days, it is such an amazing feeling, I love it! I had my A/S last week, I'm still on cloud nine to be on team purple!!  No names yet, we're really focused on getting the nursery ready so we haven't really discussed it too much yet.  We have a good list of names we both dislike, and names we don't agree on though  I see my OB tomorrow to get all the official A/S results and I am eager, just praying she says everything looks perfect!

QOTW: No babies here, and no ideas for next year yet.  We do have a friend's Halloween party, and they usually dress up.  I'll have to come up with something!

I am 18w today. My next appointment isn't until 10/23 for my A/S and appointment. I've been on diclegis since 12w and my OB said at the last appt they could increase it if needed since I was still having nausea and dry heaving. He said it should get better in a week or two (they all lie!), so we'll see what happens this time around. I was so sick with my DS through the mid-20w. I have all my appts scheduled through the end of the year, so I'm glad I have that out of the way. I guess I need to make a decision soon about VBAC vs. RCS.

QOTW: Not sure if I'll dress up. My DS is going to be Spider-Man. He's so excited!

I'm 25 weeks today! And I can't believe I'm almost to 3rd tri! I have another doctor's appointment on Friday, which we've turned into a 4-day weekend and I can't wait! Thankfully, everything's been okay since the slip but now, I'm sick and have a cold. Good news is, we managed to finish painting the whole house and gone through a good like 2/5 of the junk we had in the house. Hopefully by this time next week, our new fence will be up around the house and the rest of the junk taken care of. FX!

QOTW: Since Halloween is on a Friday this year, I don't think either mh or me will be home early enough for the trick or treaters. Next year tho, we will definitely be going trick or treating with our 9-m old (God willing!). As to what she'll wear, no clue.

Im 27w2d- this is my last update here. It has flown by!! So thankful for this wonderful group of ladies. No real updates. Next appt not for another week. Last weekend we went to Monterey and Carmel with friends. I wanted to get a diaper bag. Couldnt find one I loved but ones I thought I loved, I didnt- so Im glad I checked them out in person. I got a Petunia Pickle Bottom outlet invite once we got home and scored 2 bags, clips, and a powder room bag cheaper than 1 bag. So excited!!

@southernyankeegirl‌ - Thank you! I am feeling much better. I got the hang of it and pitty party is over.

QOTD: I dont know what we're dressing us as. Typically DH will wear my old cheerleading uniform and a hot pink wig and trick or treat our court for beers- sounds tacky but the neighbors and kids love it! One year he skipped and we had 20 people at our door. Its actually kind of funny- he has a goatee and jazz. Next year I want Canyon to be a Garden Gnome. I think my FIL will get a huge kick out of it. So Im on a misson for a 50% off costume. Woo!!

WA1215  I am the same way about chemicals etc... I also have Hashimotos with hypothyroidism so I have also been reading about  enviromental factors.  We registered almost everything organic and some family thinks we are ridiculous but they can deal.  We don't just choose organic but research everything to make sure it is free of toxins etc. 

 I am 23 weeks and change and really cant wait to hit the 24 week milestone next week.  We ahadour MFM appointment this week and the boys look great and weigh about a pound and half each!   I see my OB and have glucose testing next week.  I also start seeing my OB every two weeks and MFM every three weeks. So lot's of doctors appointments ahead! 

QOTW:
I am not really for adults dressing up for halloween.  I mean if they are something unique and cute maybe but it bothers me that some women use this as a time to dress like hoes.  Last year my neighbor literally walked around in black lingerie at our block party and called herself a cat.  REALLY?!   This year i plan on staying home and passing out candy and also eating some

Hi Ladies - 

I am 24 weeks and 3 days.  Made it to V-day - yay!  And now I realize that we actually have to really start doing stuff - getting the nursery ready, getting all the gear, etc.  

London was fantastic - we got great weather and enjoyed walking around our favorite spots, checking out some new restaurants, saw a couple great shows, got a blissful massage and just had a really nice time.  

Had my 24 week appointment Monday - our little one is on track and doing great.  Next appt is the lovely glucose test.

QOTW: We aren't really into Halloween so we won't dress up or anything.  And since we live in a city we don't get trick or treaters.  However last year we carved a pumpkin and put it in the window - may do the same this year.

No updates, just becoming more and more uncomfortable but I do LOVE feeling and watching LOs move! I've started sleeping in the living room because I just cannot get comfortable in bed :-( I am getting very excited that the day I get to hold my babies is getting closer and closer! Im 26 weeks tomorrow, my OB said if I don't have them by 37weeks he'll prob take them, so 11 more weeks! And I AM GOING TO MY SHOWER! Which is this sat, my family can suck it up, I'm not doing anything that's harming my babies and they will not make me feel guilty for this.

QOTD: no dressing up this year, we will be passing out candy to the kiddos in the neighborhood tho. I can't wait for next year I'm looking forward to doing something cute and matching with the twins :-)

So nothing huge to report, 23 weeks. Next appointment is next Tuesday. I am very excited to be close to V day!! Best milestone ever! 

QOTW: DD is gonna be a ladybug this year I let her "choose" between two at Walmart and she grabbed the ladybug over the princess. I think her daddy was quite happy about that lol. I haven't decided this year on my costume. Probably a pirate or something. We go to a lot of renfaires so we have lots of pieces of costumes that we put together for Halloween. I just feel like we're always wearing the same types of things though. I tried to convince hubby to go as an insect so we match as a family but he's resisting. We have a Halloween party at our house every year. I'm also gonna take DD to a local early years center where they are having a Halloween party and the kids go trick or treating at the local businesses during the day. Which is awesome for me so she's not up super late.

Just had an ultrasound today and am officially on two week appointments until I deliver! 25w1d today! My doctor decided I have to take it ridiculously easy from here on out. My toes look like little sausages and my ankles are a bit swollen, but my bp is totally fine so I just need to keep my feet up more and keep on drinking water! Yay for only walking when necessary! Works for me...I can get out of some things now that I didn't want to do Glucose test tomorrow morning and after that my next appointment is Oct 22nd for a growth scan/regular check-up and TDAP.

QOTW: We are not really doing Halloween this year since we are in the process of buying a house and I'm just not in the mood to hand out candy this year or listen to the dog bark at every kid that comes to our door. We're going to go out to dinner and a movie so we don't have to hide in our own house with the lights off =]

I feel the same way! My family and friends are throwing me three baby showers, one in Oklahoma where my family lives, one at work and one where I live in Arizona. Very unpopular opinion but it is my first and probably o ly so who cares, I am loving every minute of it. We are due the same week too btw, my do is 3/28. I am 16 weeks today!

Not much to report today. Been feeling some poking and hard lumps but that's about it. No actual movement yet, 16 weeks today. Feeling great these days!
