Re: OPP Tuesday!

  • Mine is from the Gilmore Girls (blasphemy, I know). I love the show, but the whole "4 kids in 4 years" thing from season 3 kinda bugged me. As if it were as easy as deciding the outfit you're wearing that day.

  • getting blindsided by my ex best friend from college sending out a mass text to me and all of our friends (none of which she talks to anymore) announcing her pregnancy complete with ultrasound pic!  We haven't talked in 6+ months and she knows about the IF struggles and the testing we were going thru at the time.  How about either you talk to me or keep me off your mass texts about your pregnancy?

  • Yea there have been many other things that have happened in our friendship that has lead to me cutting her out.  She was almost completely gone until she married one of my husband's "friends'...he turned out to be as crazy and she is lol so no one talks to either of them anymore.  I said congrats and promptly deleted the text.  I guess the whole idea of not talking to someone who you know is struggling with something (she also did this to another friend who's mom was battling cancer) for so long and then to send a text expecting a "I"M SO HAPPY FOR YOU" response makes me so angry!

But @amlrunner you totally beat me to it.  I'm over all these celebrity baby annoucements.  Blake Lively, Princess Charlene (Monaco) expecting twins, Mila Kunis giving birth this week... I seriously think I need to stop visiting the People website :(

  • I spent the weekend with my mothers side of the family for a funeral. I posted a while back about my cousin's GF having her second baby. Their son just turned 1 and she is due soon. My aunt kept talking about how sorry she felt for her. She's in and out of the hospital with BP issues. She's been on bedrest. Her hips hurt. She's miserable. Wah wah wah. While its concerning, I don't feel a bit sorry for her. This horrible curse of a pregnancy was PREVENTABLE! Use a condom. Keep your legs closed! If any of this complaining came with ANY excitement I might not be so bitter but there is NONE!

That being said, I do hope she and the baby are ok. And I'm proud of myself for keeping my mouth shut. Even when everyone knows what I'm going though and still continues to have this pity party in front of me. Thank God they live too far away to attend.

  • Ugh Yahoo, do you have to update me whenever some celebrity (that personally can't act) is KU? Also, I 'm sick of those Duggar girls too. These people have money, looks and apparently no problem getting KU, but my poor husband and I who are loving, hard working people have to drain our savings and live in a one bedroom apartment for I don't know how long to deal with 3 weeks of needles, endless procedures and the possibility of it still not working. Can you tell I'm completely fed up today?

  • Our sil is pregnant with their first. We've been ttc longer than they've been married and honestly it just makes me feel like a huge failure sometimes. Not to mention she's way younger than us. Ugh. I try to just be happy for them, but it's tough because it's all just so freakin' frustrating. And of course we moved back home from 8 hours away just in time to be around it all the time. At least when we were away it could've been out of sight, out of mind.
  • My H's ex (that he "dated" for like a minute) announced her pregnancy this weekend and I ugly cried. I'm normally not this bitter, but this girl and I had a bunch of mutual friends and when I started dating my now husband she said some HORRIBLE things about me that were completely untrue. She also kept texting him trying to get some attention even when she knew he was in a relationship. Now here she is, 3 years younger than me, not married (so presumably the pregnancy was unplanned) and POOF!! Knocked the eff up!!! Whyyy does IF even exist, it's just so. un. fair.

Damn you Target!!! ALL the pregnant women shop at Target. Everyone else in the store who isn't pregnant has a load of babies and toddlers and children hanging out of their cart. Everyone except me. Can't a gal just buy some shampoo without feeling like they need to run out of the store screaming anymore?

@molly84 and @rainbowbridge14, Ugggh with pregnant SILs! My SIL isn't pregnant (yet), but I swear that is the thing I dread the most in the whole world.

ETA: Not sure how to get rid of all these formatting things. My computer obviously also has feelings about OPP Tuesday?

  • @rainbowbridge14 - Online shopping for the shower gifts. Always online shopping. Sometimes I'll buy the first damn thing in my price range so that I don't have to scan through the whole list.
  • Thanks @Rumbera28. I've sworn off booze this cycle (WHAT is wrong with me!) since it's my first on Femara and I want to see if not drinking helps... normally I can polish off a bottle of wine with ease.

AND I have another OPP that just happened-- I go to get my nails done a couple hours ago and this really nice lady sits next to me. She notices my ring and asks how long I've been married (immediately I think "oh great, here we go"). When I say 14 months she starts talking about how her son just got married in March and they were PREGNANT IN APRIL. But "how nice that you and your husband are spending some time just the two of you first!"

  • I also just had another one...I am most of the way through this really great book, which I am totally enjoying, and in a surprise twist one of the main characters is pregnant. I just read 10 pages describing the birth in detail. Turns out fictional OPP just as crappy as IRL OPP. (granted I could have stopped reading, but the book is really good)
