TTC After a Loss

**November Angels Check-In (October 7, 2014)**

**November Angels Check In (October 7, 2014)**

This is a weekly check-in for those who have lost an angel with a November EDD. If you would like to be added to our group, please reply to this message with your EDD and date and stage of loss. Please also tell us a little bit about yourself and your TTCAL journey so far. Those with loss dates in November are also welcome. As time goes on, it is only to be expected that there will be graduates, which means that there will at times be BFPs listed here. On weeks when we do have a BFP to celebrate, you’ll see a warning at the top of the page, which is provided so you’ll have the option of scrolling past the announcement if you need to. If you do get your BFP, please PM me so that we can congratulate you appropriately in the next check-in.

Re: **November Angels Check-In (October 7, 2014)**

  • Hi Everyone!

Today is CD13 and I am officially an ovulation testing addict!! I'm testing morning, noon and night ;) Since CD9 my temps lined up identical to what they were last month so if things continue as they did last month I will ovulate on my own on Saturday and may not need the trigger boost. I'll still go in on Friday and have my follies and lining checked and if they will give me the boost to ensure O on Saturday I'll happily fork over the $115.00!! In the meantime if I were to get a positive O kit I would call the office and still go in for the lining and follies check. My best friend from VA is flying in on Friday morning to spend the weekend with DH and I. Not ideal timing, but she knows where we are in our TTC journey so she will absolutely respect DH and I needing to sneak off to get our bedding on :) She is specifically coming to attend the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta's. Its a gorgeous time in our city, my favorite part about fall!! You are all constantly on my mind!!

Hi @DenaMaree we are cycle twins this month.  I am also CD 13.  H is feeling better but still nervous and we haven't had sex yet. He tried to ride his motorcycle on Sunday and that didn't go very well so I'm worried we won't be able to HIO.  I don't think I will O until the end of the week or this weekend so I hope by then he will feel ready.

ETA: forgot QOTW.  I posted this in the EDD thread.  Usually Christmas but I just don't want to deal with the holidays this year.  We talked about going to Europe but that depends on the RE appointment and testing.  Gah, I hate this.

  • Good afternoon @DenaMaree and thanks for the check-in! It looks like I timed my sign in today perfect because you just posted, ha! So exciting that O is on the horizon, hopefully you can take the trigger to get things a little more timed up. Fingers so-so-so crossed.

@tlc35 I want to make so many inappropriate jokes about icing balls and what not. LOL! :) I hope things work out so you can HIO

Hugs to both of you and to the rest of the November ladies!

AFM: I had my baseline ultrasound and blood work earlier today and despite my irrational fears that they might cancel another cycle, all was well and we were cleared to begin the injectables tomorrow! I got in to my car afterwards and just cried tears of relief. I go back next Monday for a monitor sesh and then every other day after that until everything is measuring where they want it and then they'll have me trigger and we'll schedule the IUI. RE thinks it'll be next Saturday or Sunday. I can't even begin to express how excited I am to be moving onward and upward with all this!

QOTW: Our anniversary is the 13th, my birthday is the 15th, and fall is my favorite time of the year here in Michigan, so naturally Halloween is my most favorite holiday ever. This is the first year we've had our own home, so I've been having way too much fun decorating it. We're also going to go to a Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing at our local theatre and dress up in character, which is something I've always wanted to do. (I think DH is humoring me this year with everything that's happened and how depressed I've been. I'll take it!)

  • @tlc35  I so hope you are able to confirm O and have great timing!! I am SO completely confused by my body because I got a negative O test this morning and then when I wiped a couple hours later I had the clear stretchy CM. I thought that was fertile CM. Perhaps it comes throughout the entire fertile week? I called my RE office to find out and see if perhaps it makes sense to move up my monitoring. I'm just SO nervous about missing O. I hope yours holds off until later over the weekend to give your DH a bit more time for recoup!! My recommendation is if he can battle the pain through riding the motor cycle he can battle whatever he needs to on your O day ;)

@feegan, I got the chills when I read your update! Woo Hoo everything sounds so awesome and promising! Keep us posted!! I hope the time goes quick for you and all falls into place perfectly!!

  • Hi ladies!  Work is finally settling down, so I have a little more time to bump these days.  I've missed you all!

@DenaMaree  FX for O!  I'm glad your friend is understanding of your TTC journey, hope you're able to peel yourself away from H for a little while to spend some time with her though! ;)
@tlc35 {{hugs}} Hope your H is feeling up to DTD soon!
@Feegan So happy for you that this cycle wasn't cancelled!  And our anniversary is on the 14th, I LOVE fall!

AFM, we closed on our new house a week ago and then saw Fleetwood Mac in concert that night.  When their tour was announced I was still pregnant.  We looked ahead on the pregnancy calendar to see what baby would be up to and it said something about how it would be able to recognize and respond to songs.  I was so excited about the fact that we could have a little Fleetwood Mac fan, so the concert was bittersweet.  Since then we've been working on projects at the house, like removing wallpaper and prepping for paint.  It's been a lot of work!

I'm actually hopeful for this cycle, for once we actually seem to have good timing.  And somehow we've managed to save some energy for TTC with everything else going on.

@DenaMaree I usually get several days of fertile CM before a +OPK so that is pretty normal.

  • @HMR11913  Don't be intimidated by the thought of the SA and HSG. I was nervous when we did all of our testing too, but in the end it only brought answers and clear direction so it was all so worth it!! So hoping you don't even need it and the clomid does the trick!! Testing from CD10 onward sounds just right!! I do my clomid CD5-9 and start my O testing at CD12. I haven't been lining them up and comparing them, but with your suggestion I think I will. With my temps consistent with CD9 onward of last month I am hoping/anticipating that O will be on Saturday and my appointment on Friday is scheduled spot on!! I just have that feeling that everything is falling into place so nicely and it gives me reassurance and hope!! I hope you find yourself feeling the same way!!

  • @HMR11913 From what I've read up on fertility its actually suppose to be "easier" to work with male infertility troubles more so then females. The main thing with your DH's sperm analysis would be him refraining from sex for at least seventy two hours before testing. Otherwise I think they let them take home the test kit and can bring it back at their convenience. My DH did it in the office but with him having to withhold for several and them providing magazines he had no troubles ;) ! Just be good to yourself and continue to do everything you can at your own pace!

  • @HMR11913  Hmmm...I'm not sure! We had all the testing done on the same day with a follow up a couple weeks later. I'm not sure how long they had the test results when we went in and sat down with the RE to discuss the results.

  • Thanks for the check in @denamaree, FX you won't have to trigger and will O right on time!

@TLC35 I'm sorry YH still isn't 100%, have you guys talked about him being up for sex or is that a no-no?

@feegan I'm so happy for you! FX these next couple weeks fly by for you.

@mrskush1014 Congrats on closing! Isn't it such a relief when it's all said and done!

@hmr11913 Do you know if your OB will being doing ultrasounds while on Clomid, or have you even decided yet? I did a quick google search on Prolactin and it looks like RPL could be related to prolactin levels. That's my only guess why they would look at that. I know you're nervous, but think of the testing as a step forward!

AFM, I ended up quitting temping, just around O time, so I'm just going off assumptions. I'm guessing I O'd on Friday. I'll pick it back up next cycle, but I was just over it. Not doing anything special this 2ww, just waiting it out. I've got some soon-to-expire HPTs so I will be happily POAS  by the end of next weekend.
Work is starting to get pretty slow, so I'm just trying to take advantage of it because I know next month it will be crazy again.

QOTW: I love Thanksgiving, although I think this year the holidays will be pretty rough to get through.

  • @LittleMrsW  I can completely understand why you needed/wanted to take off from temping as you neared towards your O! All of this trying to conceive stuff is overwhelming more times then it isn't!! I SO hope time goes fast for you and end of next week is here quickly so you know one way or another!!

@HMR11913 I have a horror story with my first experience with clomid. I was on it with a OB unmonitored in 2012 after ten months of TTC. I was thrilled when she prescribed it, but wasn't at all informed how strong it was. I took it in September and didn't even notice I took the drug. We got a BFN and moved on to cycle two. On cycle two I took the meds CD3-7 and by CD14 I was having a lot of CM and I thought that it had a smell. My pelvic area constantly felt "full" and my initial thought was this must be what clomid feels like when it's working. I left it for a couple days but my pelvic area only kept feeling more full and when I urinated there was some burning. I assumed it was a UTI and called my OB's office. She told me to do a urine test; which the next morning came back negative. She happened to be out of the office when they called with the results and her back up doctor told me to come on in since I wasn't feeling any better. Turns out I had two follies larger then 23mm and a cyst that was preparing to rupture. Had it ruptured I would have most likely lost my right tube!! I ended up having the cyst surgically removed and was told to take six months off TTC. I healed fine and we decided to take off a year of TTC and I refused anything to do with clomid until this past October. In the end we were referred to the RE who actually did all the testing and actually taught be about clomid and the monitoring, etc so going back on it was nerve racking but I felt better knowing it was closely monitored. I haven't had any issues since!! We do clomid CD5-9 as in the medical world its believed that CD3-7 is for quantity and CD5-9 is for quality!! I go in at CD15/6 because I have NEVER O'd before CD17 and usually its CD20 or later. The thought with letting my body have those few extra days is its helps my lining thicken and the eggs mature as long as they need! Each month I see a progression with the eggs and their size, BUT note that each month my lining thins some!! Month 1 I had one follie that never got larger then 17MM so I wasn't surprised we didn't get pregnant. Last month we had two follies, one was 17MM and one was 19MM so I was really hoping the 19MM would take, but obviously it didn't. We will learn on Friday what we have for follies. When we got pregnant in November we had a 19MM and a 21MM that split and gave us the identical twins and a singleton. For thickness they want a minimum of 6.5MM to ensure there isn't early MC. Last month mine was 7.25MM so the RE is confident going into this month I shouldn't be less then 7MM but if I am then we may not proceed! If we do not conceive this month we will DEFINITELY take off the month of November to give my lining the chance to build back up and have to re-evaluate in December!! Sorry for the long story, but hope the information gives you some insight :)

  • @HMR11913 Have you take the month off from TTC! The biggest risk if there is no sign of infection is the follies splitting and getting multiple multiples. I was told any follie over 22MM has the largest chance of splitting. If they scan and you have more then one that is 19MM or larger then you have a higher chance of multiple sacs with a minimum of one baby in each sac. If you went in and they told you that you had two follies and one was 18mm and one was 20mm I would be confident you would have the best chance of a singleton; if two are 19mm you had a good chance at fraternal twins; if you have one that is 19mm and one that is larger then 22mm you have a solid chance of triplets (or more). Based on my research this isn't likely until you get to three or more months on consistent clomid, from what I've learned your best chance at a singleton or at most twins is getting pregnant on clomid in months one or two.

  • Hi and thaks as always for the checkin @DenaMaree  Great tohear that you're gearing up for the big ovulation day. FX that you don't need the trigger. Have fun with your friend...fun is always helpful in the ttc journey! :)

@tlc35 Glad your hubby is on the mend still. No more mtorcycles! Gotta keep the "area" healing, not all squished up!

@Feegan So excited for you that things are looking good for this cycle. I so get the whole feeling of reliefwhen things arent't as bad as you created in your mind!

@MrsKush1014 Woah, I wanted to go to Feeltwood Mac when they came here, but they werent playing til Novemeber and I decided that was too close for comfort. I'm glad you were able to go and enjoy yourselves even though it was so bittersweet. And yay for good timing! :)

@HMR11913 Hahaha on saving the strips! I'll one up you...I've been saving mine since Janurary so I can compare. I'm cray cray!:) I'm glad you are at least geting some answers from blood work. And don't be worred about the SA...my hubby went on Friday to give his samle and he said it wasnt that bad. He was gigling over the selection of helpful 'materials' they had in the room. Ihope you get to a better place with the possibility of taking Clomid. I know I've been doing a lot of reading on all sorts of fertility meds and its scary.

@LittleMrsW FX for your 2WW...I'm just about overt the temping too!

AFM: My progesterone result 5DPO last cycle was 11.4 and I had CD3 blood work done and got the results back very quickly. Everything was in normal ranges except the FSH, which was a little concerning. My number was 9.4 which is in the 'fair' category but my doc said is normal for a woman my age (40). Nothing I can do about that except stress!
We are still waiting on hubby's SA, so once we have that, we'll have the complete picture. But at this point, she thinks everything is good to go, its just a matter of timing and me calming down/destressing. So, today I went to my 1st accupuncture appt and am cooking up my personalized herb tea mixture right now. It was pretty relaxing and my therpaist was really wonderful collecting tons of info from me...I am getting more hopeful and positive with all these interventions I can do! :)

  • @HMR11913‌ Didn't hurt one bit! The needles are so small, the width of a shaft of hair. The hard part for me was just lying there quietly for 30 minutes learning how to meditate. I'm not good sitting still, not doing anything, so I really had to work hard at that. The herbal tea is pretty nasty, but it's meant to help build the lining in my uterus, help with weight loss and insulin levels, and help with sleeping. So, I chug it whilst pinching my nose always remembering its for a good cause! :)

  • DenaMaree - Thanks for running this, this week!

I'm actually doing really well this week. The last 6 months were so draining, I can't even remember the last time I went to the salon. So I did last night and I feel like a new woman! Hubby sees his therapist Saturday afternoon. Very excited for him. I've also been feeling very inspired to share my MC story in hopes that I can be a support system for anyone else going through it - given it's Pregnancy Loss Awareness month - and I am overwhelmed by the outreached I've received.

    Other things...

How is your 2WW treating you? Okay - Had lots of anxiety early on, but I've since relaxed and found comfort in just enjoying time with my hubby. I keep reminding myself that each day is a blessing and that even through we dont have a child, his love is enough for right now. BUT! Cannot. Wait. To. Test.

Any further update on ANA, D, and FE? Low iron (not surprised), high white blood cells, which he said not to worry about, but we're going to keep an eye on it since autoimmune runs in my family. On a new inhaler which is REALLY helping me out too.

Did you get your OB appointment scheduled? Not yet. I'm torn as to whether or not I want to make this. He isn't going to do any tests, so it's more for my own peace of mind, but really, not sure I want to fork over $40 to just see his smiling face tell us to do the BD.

When will you test? I'm 9 DPO, so I'm guessing it's a little early??

    scrang74HMR11913 - I highly recommend.

  • AFM… The OB apt went pretty well, although it was short. He basically said that for whatever reason my progesterone had been low which was concerning. He didn’t think my thyroid was off, since I have normal cycles, but he tested it anyway and that was normal. I was looking on my online results earlier and see that they had also checked my prolactin….why would they do that I wonder?? Hmm… anyway, he had suggested again that we try the Clomid. I got a lot of responses regarding that from here, so I called the RE here in town to ask their advice and he said that I would not need a referral to come and see him, however that I’d be okay taking the 50mg from my OB for the 5 days this month and see how that goes. I’ll be going in on the 20th for a progesterone check and then I guess we’ll go from there. I think that I’ll O sometime next week, as I’m only on CD8 right now. I plan to start using OPK’s on CD10 since that’s what I had did last month. I also started using a BBT this cycle as well, and that’s going fine. The OB also recommended DH getting a SA and then if nothing happened this month, for me to have an HSG. While I’m trying to be optimistic for this cycle, I’m SO nervous about having that additional testing done… not only for me, but for DH. That would put so much pressure on him. I was in a wedding on Saturday, so DH got to party there for his birthday… it was a lot of fun! Then Sunday we got tattoos(my 2nd) which is the same thing we did 2 years ago for his birthday too. We decided to get something for our anniversary(11/9) and so we got the date in roman numerals, then with our last name initial in front of it. I really love them!!! Sorry this ended up being so long…. Yesterday was the last day on the RX and I’m already so nervous about everything…. I’ve read good and bad stories about it. I just have to hope that we made the right decision!

Seems like your doc is so on top of things. If you don't mind me asking - what was your trigger to go to the doc to check progesterone? I've had some wack cycle things going on and I'm starting to wonder if I'm drawing near to getting some tests done...
