So! My class on Saturday went well we've been learning how to swing around the pole (I sound like an eager to learn stripper don't i?) and my thighs are on fire from that and going on my runs! I managed to get out 3 times last week and did a total of 7 (and some change) miles! I can't usually get my older kids out with me because of homework and other evening distractions so, It was just Nicky and I. He loves how fast it goes and squees the whole time lol.
Eating has been so so. I slipped and had mcdonalds but, we hadn't gone grocery shopping yet so, that's my excuse. Now that we have groceries, I've got some healthier meals in mind.
Last week eating wise was great for me. Made all of my meals and all of them were healthy. Exercising was so so, missed a few days. It is SO hard to get in a work out when DS doesn't want to sleep (which is a lot lately.)
I was a little discouraged to see that I've been GAINING weight instead of losing it even though I feel thinner than I have in a long time, idk what's going on but it sucks, I still have (now with the gain) 18lbs to go.
Knee still hurts...but not as much. I plan on doing 5 today at the gym (yay gym daycare!) and another 4 tomorrow at work. Swim Wednesday, run again Thursday before I catch my flight to VA. Friday will be a nothing day as I wil be supporting DH who is racing a Double Iron in Virginia. This should be interesting with a baby!
I plan on a run Saturday and Sunday to round out the week.
My week was awful. I got in two nice long walks but I ate terribly. I also went to the beach Saturday for some girl time and drank beer so their is that....overall not good at all. I really need to get my butt in gear but my work schedule has been so all over the place it's impossible.
Last week was no good. With MIL in town, we've got junk food/ baked goods around a lot. We don't keep that stuff in the house usually, so even in small quantities it through off my eating plan.
Also, DH got sappy and wanted to cook dinner together like we used too (with cheese, crackers, champagne and wine)... And so ontop of the extra calories, my freezer stash of milk is also almost gone
And then I didn't even work out. Boo.
This week is off much better, went for a run last night which felt great. Hoping I can keep up the activity levels, but it's really tough fitting it into a work day. @Matthew930 good luck at work next week
My only tip there is, if anyone offers help, or to do anything for you (baby related or not) let them. Sometimes I can tell DH is only half serious with his offer, but as long as I accept right away, he'll still do it. Case in point, last night I could tell he was not excited about running and pushing LO in the BOB (we both wanted to run at the same time, so one of us has to push the stroller), but he "offered" and I didn't fight it at all, and then I had a nice solo jog
I'm sitting in the bus on my way into work just now, and my favorite Zumba song came on my pandora (Shakira - this is Africa) and now I'm PUMPED to go tonight
I have been lurking on the track club threads for awhile now. It's inspiring. I'm still in wonderment about when you all workout? Does your gym have childcare? I can't for the life of me find time away from LO. DH works out in the morning and then goes to work until 5:30ish. He tells me to after he gets home but then it's "dinner time" and then DS has fussy time until 8ish. Maybe after I get him down for the night? This balance just has me confused. But I need to get on track and try to lose some of this baggage I've been carrying. Any thoughts or tips are appreciated!
Edit to add: @ashleymarie1027 I use to teach Zumba and LOVE that song!
@cookiemomma14 : timing is the hard part for me too. Especially now that it's getting cold (in the twin cities area). I try to keep my goal reasonable - work out two week days and one weekend day. We are also very flexible with "dinner time" which is easier since we only have one kid right now (I'm sure that will change as this one gets older)
My gym does have childcare, but he's not quite old enough yet. Still not sure how I feel about using it though, I think i would feel awkward. Has anyone else tried this? At my gym, they won't change or feed them, and they'll call you over the PA system if your child throws a fit.
I'm with @cookiemomma14 with not knowing how you all manage it. I've managed to take LO for walks in his Thule jogging stroller all of 3 times and that seemed monumental. I barely have time to sleep, so the thought of having time to exercise just seems impossible. (This is with me having almost non-existent me-time. I came to the conclusion I have to find a way to make me-time before I have a nervous breakdown.) Hoping things get a little easier as LO gets older.
I'm with you ladies who can't find the time. DD hardly naps and if she does it's only when I hold her. She gets bored super easily so I can only put her in the bouncy seat/swing for about 15 minutes before she gets fussy and that's usual when I find time to eat or shower. If I have to get stuff done I put her in the K'tan but even that is hit or miss.
It'll be even harder when I go back to work next week because I work evenings and DH works days. I'm thinking maybe when I get home at 11:15 pm I can try to squeeze in a workout/shower routine but I need to get some sleep too. The good news is I signed up for Weight Watchers so my diet has been getting better.
I give you ladies a lot of credit!!

Thank you so much ladies! @Matthew930 don't worry about the long story. It was helpful. It makes sense about it taking awhile too. I think some of it is just adjusting to the new life with DS too. I'm headed to visit family 5 hours away until Tuesday but will be joining the track club. I think it'll help hold me accountable to take some "me" time.
@BPaws I don't like me without exercise either. It's impacting how I feel physically and emotionally. But to mention the body changes from pregnancy. Hoping getting some exercise in will help me to feel more like myself.
I have a polar watch that takes heart rate and stuff but I can't find the band..ugh. So are there any tracking devices you all recommend? I think walking with DS in the stroller will be good until it gets too cold. Then I like the idea of videos. I have tons of music and choreography still from when I taught Zumba.
I've been MIA from the bump for a bit, but I'm back. First I'll congratulate you @Matthew930 on both the scale and non - scale victories! That's awesome! I've been whittling away at this baby weight and will jump in on Monday with a detailed review, but it's been a few weeks of ups and downs, but overall healthier lifestyle : )
It's been a crappy week for me. I've still been eating pretty good but I still need to work on eating more throughout the day, I've been eating a big lunch/dinner around 3 and then go to work at 430 and by the time i get home it's so late I don't even feel like eating and I have no idea a healthy snack to eat that late.
Exercise has been non existent this week. Working nights every single night and getting up with DS in the MOTN has caught up with me and calls for zero energy, even with all the coffee. I may take him for a walk in the morning though seeing as I FINALLY have a day off.
I'm still 18lbs heavier than I was pre pregnancy but I've decided the biggest thing bothering me is how I look when I'm dressed. I never bought bigger clothes or maternity anything because I wore leggings 24/7 but I'm going to go out next week and actually buy some new clothes (even though I'm a little eh having to go up a size or so) It's time I feel better about myself, and hopefully that will help improve everything else.
