I got a creepy message on Linked In the other day. Is that a thing???
Like, non-career related creepy??
Well, the creepy part was non-career related. He asked me to tell him more about my job, asked what part of the country I worked in, then said, "By the way, you sure have a nice pretty picture." Ew.
vandelay Yes, that's a scam. A bunch of us at work got those a while back. The guy's name was the same as someone we all worked with and it came up that we had connections in common so we accepted the request thinking it was legit. Then we all got creepy messages and we started asking each other about the weird message like "who is this dude and why did he hit on me?"
*Siggy Warning*
About me 2007: Started TTC. 2008: OB prescribed clomid, went to RE and was Dx with PCOS. 2009: IUI #1 w/follitsim and trigger = BFP. B/G Twins born at 33 weeks. 2012: TTC #3, Round 2 of Letrozole w/TI = BFP, missed m/c at 8 1/2 wks. Currently on the bench as we make plans for a new home. Anxious to start TTC #3 within the next year!
All I'm taking from this is that since I'm poor and like pizza, I might have a chance on a dating site should I ever need one.
Something about Batman is, apparently, also a plus.
I'm more of a SheRa fan, perhaps I'll become a lesbian

Hot or Not is how I knew my ex was a douche. He kept checking his score. It was about that time he developed a wandering eye. He totally wanted to see if he could attract someone hotter than me. He had identity issues.
Also, I'm pretty sure the baseball talk has long passed by now, but I'm sad because my Angels were already taken out.... GODDAMMIT, GUYS.
I wont give any fucks now until I see the who the two final teams in the series are...then I'll decide. If it's the fucking Dodgers, it'll be whoever is playing against them.

Weird! This guy claimed to be a consultant in my industry and was connected to several of my connections as well. I mean, is this scam ever, ever successful? Did anyone sign up for Linked In hoping to meet the man of her dreams, and if so, was "you shore do have a nice purty picture, heh heh heh" what she was looking for to sweep her off her feet?
I reserve "NMS" for names that are legit and fine names, but really are not my style. No negativity intended.
If you propose a horrible name to me, I'll just outright tell you it's pretty awful. That is usually the case for misspelled/made-up or naming-your-newborn-girl-wyatt type of names.
That said though...I've gotten a few side eyes from (mainly) older generation people in my family over our baby 2.0's name which is going to be Aria..... I guess I could see how some people would think it's a bit "different", but Satan on a Ritz people there are FAR WORSE OUT THERE. And at least it's spelled correctly.
The new housekeeper on my floor has walked by my door 4 times and given me the creepiest smile each time and have me the once over when we passed each other in the hall.
@hilarityensued my DD's Alice, you should go with that! I like Charlotte too.
@SpaceGirlSpiff I love the name Aria!
I'm home sick, I have a sore throat, sinus infection and fever.
My SIL told me yesterday there's an apartment for sale in her building. It's a good price, 3 bedrooms, nice neighborhood. If we bought it we could have baby #2 which we can't do right now because our place is too small. The only downside is no elevator.
Is it crazy living in the same building as SIL and BIL? Anyone been there?

What floor is it on? Multiple children and lots of stairs does not sound like a great combination.
I worked with a Nicole who would try to one-up every story you told. We eventually coined a verb after her name. You don't want to Nicole someone's story; it's rude.
@billybumbler DH's parents live next door and BIL and SIL live further back on their property. DH's uncle lives across the street. It can get annoying sometimes but it's not too bad. The family members with kids like it because they can all play safely in one place.
I like Sam for a boy best of all. Jonah is in second place, but I don't think it would win. Girls names are much harder and I like a thousand of them that all sound like old lady names.
I love Samuel... If this baby had been another boy, it was on my short list. Along with Adam. What I really wanted was Max after my late grandfather I never got to meet, but H is a hater.
Really though we would have been in deep shit name-wise if this baby was a boy... H and I could NOT agree.
There are times when two perfectly normal and good names are paired together in an unfortunate way. Not too long ago I came across a "Jason Elizabeth" posted by a friend of a friend on FB .... it was a boy, to be clear.

Was his name Dave? Lol.

Still gross, but slightly less so.
I love old lady names!
Eta aka Baby Spice
That's NMS.
