Gramma asked me to make a Christmas list for the LO... But what do you get a 6 mo old? (Who's parents already got an electronic rocking horse that neighs, the stuffed puppy that helps teach body parts, and a farm playset?) anyone who has had kiddos before give me some ideas! I keep looking at toy store websites and nothing is jumping out at me like "oh wow, she should have that?" I don't necessarily need just toys for her, but she has so many clothes and blankies already any the other gramma got the walker...

Sounds like you have a lot already. I would suggest fun interactive books? Or grandma could put money towards a college fund. I know it's not as exciting as a toy but you don't want to overdue it. It's not like LO will realize what's going on this year.

Clothes and accessories are always good to have. Educational videos or CDs. Gift cards for you to spend on them. Recipe books for homemade baby food. Activity books. Teething toys (those are soooooooo helpful) and other cool ideas that will work for babies of that age. Also things that work for them as they get a little older.

ETA: missed the comment about the clothes. Lol clothes are still good though.

Books are always good.  My parents got DD1 a sled for Christmas and she was 8 months.  It was fun to pull her around on walks.  It had straps so she could be belted in and was big enough to throw some blankets and toys in.

The twins are getting that fancy baby food steamer/ blender thing from Santa. We have too many toys and such already.

The one toy I do recommend are the Tomy Little Chirpers eggs. Awesome baby toy!

Baby is getting a new jumperoo since we had to get rid of our old one, the Fisher Price crawl around car, new bath toys, and some new books.

Do you have any local attractions that you could ask for a membership to like a zoo or aquarium? Maybe a subscription to BabyBug or one of those magazines?

This sounds awesome! Do you know what brand it was? Sounds great for towing behind snow shoes
And then I'd have an excuse to let the grandparents get him the snowsuit they are dying to get him for Xmas.

It's called the Toddler High Back Sleigh I believe.  I'm not exactly sure where they got it.  I did a quick little search and it looks like Buy Buy Baby/Bed Bath and Beyond.  I know they didn't get it there.  There are some other good high back sleds on Amazon.

My 3 year old is really in to Christmas this coming year. It's the first year where she really "gets" it. I was hoping to be able to skip presents for this one (having two girl July babies means everything lines up). But it looks like I'm going to have some gifts from Santa

I love the personalized books from I See Me. I just bought the Hello World one for LO over the weekend because they were doing a 30% off sale. I bought a Goodnight one from my nephew last April, and it was a huge hit!  I think they're super cute because they make great keepsakes, too.  The one I got my nephew was like a picture book binding, and Hello World is supposed to be board book.  I'll have to see how sturdy it is.

Love these ideas! Especially a magazine of museum subscription! There's not really museums here, but there are aome classes I would love to enroll her in at that time like swimming!!

I may wrap up some of DS1's baby toys to put under the tree for the baby.

I don't think anyone mentioned this, but bath toys could be fun! Again more something for her to hold/chew/look at, not necessarily "play with". Also sticking with the theme, you could ask for some boutique(ish) bath products (ie California baby, A+A), and a cute little bathrobe.

@aarcher21jul‌ I've been taking DS to swim lessons since he was 6 weeks old. A local swim school offers free classes for mommies and babies. The first few weeks he did just stare at me lol. He's 12 weeks now and is interacting way more in the class. He really enjoys being the water, and it is so amazing to see the changes in him, in just 6 weeks. Also, living in Florida DH and I wanted to get him in the water and comfortable ASAP. We have so many friends with pools and go to the beach often. Over the summer we hear about way too many accidents in the pool. I think in the winter, your LO will be a great age to enjoy swim classes!

A ball popper! No one mentioned it! Also a Sofie for teething or something similar. The above poster that mentioned the Tomy eggs was not kidding... My dd #1 is three and still loves them. Fisher price laugh and learn house frame is amazing. Get something that counts and says letters. Fisher price puppy is good!

I've got DD done for Xmas already! She's getting books an ornament a crochet hat and a teddy bear that plays music for bedtime. From family I've started a list of different size clothes, books, bath toys, and will prolly add a few things for summer! So what if she won't be using it right away the less we have to buy the better & she's the first grandchild on my in-laws side so they all want to get her something!! Random idea for your extended family we are doing a homemade ornament for my niece and they are making one for our DD as well, this will be a tradition every year with all the kiddos!
