Ultrasound on Tuesday... Scared.

Hey ladies. I just wanted to share some of my feelings about my upcoming u/s on Tuesday. I thought I could be strong and not worry but that's not happening. I'm terrified that there won't be any growth. I had a scan last week because I had some spotting. RE said everything looked good and that it's exactly what she expected to see. And she said my cervix was closed. I am just so scared that when I go for my 6 week u/s (I'll actually be 5w6d) that I'll see the same sac that I saw on 9/30. Is this a common fear? Ive tried to google the chances of that happening but I can't find anything. Which is probably a good thing. I know I shouldn't google but I do anyways. Horrible habit. I guess what I want to know if this common fear is usually wrong or a gut instinct. I hate thinking this way but I just want everything to be okay.

It is a very common fear.  I'm worried about it some too with my symptoms lessening and a lot of cramping today...but I'm just trying to keep the thoughts at bay.  I think I'll feel a little better once I can hear a heartbeat with a doppler.  

A couple of us have ultrasounds Tuesday, so I'll be thinking of us all and hope we all have great news to share.

@CarSaidYes‌ I am very scared too. I think we are both due on the same day and I don't have my first u/s until the 13th. I really wish it was sooner. I fear going in and there being nothing there or something wrong. I have made myself stay off google so far but it's a day by day thing to try to trust and not worry so much. Some of my symptoms come and go different days too. I'll be praying for you and others going for u/s this week.

It's a very common fear. It gets a little better for me as my PG progresses, but it never seems to really go away.
There's nothing you can do but take care of yourself & try your best to relax a little between appointments.

The only thing that helps me with ultrasounds now is knowing I feel them move so they have to be ok. Just try to keep busy in the few days leading up to your apointment so you don't have time to think too hard about it. Sometimes that helps me. Good luck!

This is a totally normal fear, especially at such an early stage when you can't feel the baby and you might not even have much in terms of symptoms yet!  I felt the same way before every early scan with both DS and this pregnancy.  I know nothing anyone says will take those fears away, but just know that I'm sure almost all of us have felt that way at some point.  Good luck tomorrow!

Thank you guys so much for confirming my fear. It def sucks but I'm glad we have each other to lean on. I will update you guys tomorrow. I'm going to try to stay positive and pray for us all.

Completely normal feelings. I still run to the bathroom before my appts bc of nerves. The ones in the beginning are extra rough on your mind.
IF really Fs with your head & it can be extremely difficult to shake all of the worst case scenarios. Having MH with me for those u/s appts & other big ones helps to calm me down.
