Swollen penis

My 3 1/2 week old has some swelling on his penis right below the head. It kind of came out of nowhere but we did use disposable diapers this weekend when we were out of town (he's usually in cloth) has anyone else experienced this? Could it be irritation from the diapers? They do seem to swell up way more when they are wet than the cloth ones.

I'm sure you'll let your pedi know, but for what it's worth our baby boy had a tiny bit of what looked like swelling to me in a similar place. I was worried there was an issue with the circumcision, though he was producing plenty of wet diapers and it didn't appear to cause him any pain. I asked our pedi to check it out at his 2-week appointment last week, and she said everything looked fine.

I would defiantly call your doctor, I was just visiting my grandma today and gave me some good advice....... kids don't bleed or swell for no reason

Def agree with PPs to call your pedi, because I am pretty sure disposable diapers would be more likely to cause a rash than swelling. Swelling just sounds like there's more to it than just an irritation or allergy to a diaper.

I talked to my pedi yesterday and she said it sounds like irritation from the diaper - I'm supposed to put diaper cream on it and switch back to cloth diapers then call her today if it doesn't get better. We were also using seventh generation disposables which seem to swell up huge when he pees. Stupid good for the earth diapers lol.
