I had to go in to the ER tonight due to lots of pain and cramping and pains shooting into my back.  When I was there they did an ultrasound and found that my placenta is folded over....I hadn't heard of this before and can't really find to much information on it.  They could see the heartbeat and movement but neither the Doppler or the ultrasound could pick up a readable heartbeat.  They said it was due to the fold in my placenta and that they were basically trying to hear and see through three layers of placenta.  Anyone have any insight on this?  I have a follow up ultrasound Tuesday morning.

    No insight, but wanted to offer hugs and t&p. I hope your ob is able to give some answers and reassurance.

    I just hoped this would be my "easy" pregnancy but it has been anything but.  I am such a nervous wreck and so darn anxious.  I hate it.

    I have never heard of this.

    That being said, I do have my own placenta issues and know that the placenta does tend to move as pregnancy progresses.  Maybe it could work itself out?

IVF #1 Oct/Nov 2013: Long Lupron with Gonal-F. 7R, 7M, 7F. 2 txfer@3d. Nothing frozen.  => M/C @ 8 wks. :'( Selected RPL panel all normal. Very hyper and brittle response to stims. IVF #2 (antagonist protocol) Feb 2014 => Converted to IUI (Perfect conditions). BFN. IVF #2.1 w/ new RE June 2014: Antagonist protocol. 33R, 31M, 30F, 19 blasts to test!!! I made it through without crashing!! :) Hats off to Dr. Fancypants!! ET of one 5AB blast. BFN. 13 10 CCS'ed snowflakes! FET #1 PUPO as of 7/29 Betas: 8/7@24, 8/9@97, 8/11@334 (etc.) Two sacs on 8/15, one seen on 8/18 after a bleed. U/s 8/25 (6+3) "perfect": 5.9 mm + HB@120bpm! U/s 9/4 (7+6): 15.9 mm + HB@172 bpm! Please, PLEASE stick this time!!!!

    I had my follow up ultrasound yesterday and they said they did see a fold in my placenta where it was basically scarring or adhering to itself.  They said it can be a marker for birth abnormalities but the baby itself seemed active and healthy yesterday with a strong heartbeat so now it's just another waiting game to get out test results back.  Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
